Speaking of Time

May 9th, 2007

Something about this just hit me in the gut (in a good way) and I wanted to share. There's this project looking for its home called Aluna. It would be this beautiful structure and would also be the first tidal powered moon clock. I can't quite get my words around why this is so inspiring to me. Perhaps it's the moon-child (cancer) in me or my femaleness resonating strongly with the curves and cycles or just the idea of something so grand measuring time by the moon. I'll have to think on it more. (Got the link from Rob Brezsny's newsletter.)

I'll write tomorrow (or later today..erg.) Today was intense and busy (also in a good way) and I finally got up the post that's been in my head for the Finding Water blog. We're finishing up the last week of the book. Ok, right, need to wind down and find sleepy town. Oh, it's a marvelous night for a moondance...

Wow!!!! What an awesome clock! Wish I could have it for my own!
Nice way to finish up the post, with Van the Man.

A moon powered clock? That is the oddest thing I have ever seen. But cool. It’s definitely cool.

Just a couple of questions . . . . how do I join your Art Every Day project? and . . . . I was wondering about the “Finding Water” project – I know that you are finishing up this book, but will there be another one when you are finished? Would love to join or start my own bunch of blogging book readers! Thanks, Nina

Oh, thank you for sharing the news about Aluna. Right on.

I’ve punted in the worst way with FW – it’s like by giving up this last week than it doesn’t really end.

Leah- One day I’m going to write a Sonnet for you. You are such a beautiful person; you deserve a Sonnet, don’t you think?

p.s. That project looks so amazing. I love the idea of functional art that leads the way towards a future where human beings are in tune with natural rhythms. I signed up for their newsletter and I think I’m going to have to show the site to my art professor. You always share the coolest stuff!
