Wedding Designs

August 25th, 2007

There is so much that goes into a wedding. It's a lot of work! The rewards of hard work are there too though, like after all the back and forth with a designer and then stuffing and hand addressing and stamping a bazillion envelopes, I am so pleased with the result. I've blurred out some names and details.

And below, you can see a bit of the envelope, stamps, and those two adorable painted tin birds were purchased in Boulder, CO and I'm thinking about having them top our wedding cake. :-)

Long discussions with family. Juggling who dances with who, who walks with who down the aisle gets complicated in a complicated family like mine. But we're working it out. No one wants anyone else's feelings to be hurt. After a day of feeling stressed and sad, I'm starting to feel calmer and ready to snuggle up in bed. Have a great weekend all y'alls!

Beautiful, beautiful, Leah. Your wedding will be wonderful…don’t know how you do it all…have a great weekend and enjoy some time off from blogging! Blessings and love, Olivia

It’s really fun vicariously having a wedding and not having to lift a finger. Thanks!! You’re doing me a great job.

Wishing you glitter and sparkles!

Your invites are absolutely beautiful, Leah! I really like the idea of those birds as your cake topper as well. Everything not only looks artistic and individual, but so very organic and natural. I love it!

Lovely! I’m curious, have you had any fleeting moments of eloping? ha ha Wedding planning seems like too much exhausting work!

Oh, look at what all your hard work has created! Lovely! And the two birds on top your cake? how perfect for you who has birds everywhere in her drawings. Oh, congratulations! And may your weekend by grand, and the gifts perfect and the people even more perfect.

Absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I made our invitations and if I were to do it again (oh lord no!) I’d send them out. I’m excited for you both!

As I write this, it’s Saturday. Which means: Hap- Hap- Happy Bridal shower day! Yay! I hope you’re having a ball.

They’re BEAUTIFUL! I hope you’ve had a wonderful time at your shower today! xoxo

Leah, these are just beautiful. I love them. xo

Such sweet birdies! And I loved seeing the Mary Oliver on your bookshelf! :)

the birds on the wedding cake is brilliant. i also love your invitations – agreed, there is SO much that goes into the whole event. remember it’s about you and your man, that’s what matters most. what do you both want. xo

The invitations are beautiful and I love the bird idea.
It sounds like you are having a big wedding. Kudos to you for all your hard planning. What a project.
Be well.

Your big day will be here before you know it. Sounds like you are enjoying it all though. Stay positive – families can get pretty whacky as the time draws closer.
Cool birds!

I just happened across your site today and I wanted to say that your work is beautiful. And I love the sentiment in the name of your site too (which is why I clicked on it in the first place). Oh, creative everyday…I do aspire to it.

And congratulations on the wedding. Have the lovely time you’re meant to have.

The invitations are beautiful, Leah – did you design them?
You’re right, there are so many details – but try to stay relaxed – in the end, all will come together and be just as it’s meant to be – the lovely day, the two of you joined your lives together. XO

These are gorgeous. I need to start getting my act together for mine. Thanks for the inspiration Leah!

Oh Leah,
I didn’t know you were getting married! Congratulations!! Yes, it can be stressful, and wonderful all at the same time. Wish I had some words of comfort, but I will say this…even though it’s a “big day” in your life, it is only “one” day. What matters most is the marriage…in the days and years that follow after this “one” day; may you remember to breathe, be in the moment…and have the best of both.
Sending you much love and best wishes!
Cheryl

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding! I just got married a little under a month ago and what an adventure it was. I wish you the best of luck. Ours had hail and a tornado siren that woke us up on our wedding day at 4:30 am! :)
