Hi guys!

We are making shrunken (apple) heads this week to commemorate my daughter’s 10th birthday. It was, in all seriousness, her idea. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

I’ve also posted my family recipe for ceviche, a spicy condiment from South America. I’ve made it many times, and hope some of you find it intriguing enough to try (if you haven’t already had it). It’s a wonderful thing to have in the summer.

Best!
Jim

I managed to get a new painting finished, matted & framed on time to have on display for Art Walk on Friday. I forgot to scan it before I mounted it, so I took a quick photo which can be seen at http://rgrdesigns.blogspot.com/
On Sundays that I sing with my church’s praise band we have an early rehearsal before the Sunday school hour. I always go out for a latte or chai and a treat after rehearsal. This morning I was inspired with an idea for a new work, and it was a good thing I had my sketch book with me. Tonight I started the painting and hope to have it posted in a couple days.

A new mandala…a new blog…just for mandalas!

Have a creative week!

here is another from my third set of illuminated tiles. I am getting out into the neighborhood and shooting them along the sidewalk, in flowers and trees, on fences and bushes. I do receive some questioning looks.

I am also cleaning up the links on the right side of my blog, looking at page rank; thinking of changing the looking of my blog and making my blog my main site and getting rid of my original site since I haven’t updated it in ages.

To start my creative week…this weekend I finally placed my hummingbird imprint bench in my backyard! It took a few weeks for me to look at the view it had. Right here it has the view of the whole back of house, full length of the yard (if only Nugget would have a steady game of fetch)The picture doesn’t capture it, but I tried to put all the pink-ish rocks around it. I incorporated a meme that is going around while showing our task… http://goldenoasis.blogspot.com/2008/06/flying-lessons.html

I just got back from an interesting (read: not what I totally expected) weekend at the beach. Fortunately I did take my art journal and my camera :)

New journal pages are up at:

Wow! So much to see! I love the beaded journal page – I always love the illuminated tiles – and something new mandalas.

I’ve been working on a Jen Worden challenge and having lots and lots of creative fun! Check out my blog.

I’ve had so much fun working in my art journal this past week. I also have so many ideas swirling in my head. Trying to get all the ideas down so they don’t float away.

I got into my first exhibition! It’s at ArtScape, in Baltimore. It’ll travel, too.
