Packed up most of my peripheral art tools, supplies yesterday to make room for the new double windows that will be hung as soon as it stops raining long enough for DH to get it in. This will be a good time to do some sorting & purging of my collection. I’d make a good squirrel.
This Friday, I have 2 open houses & an openning where I have art on display. If you are near Ames, Iowa, the annual Art Walk will be this Friday from 5 – 9 and I will be with a group showing at Chocolaterie Stam. I’ll get more details up on my blog this evening.

here is one from my third set of tiles; somewhat like my first set which were heavily influenced by kells images. I think I like this set the best as I had learned to allow the tile to be set the pattern for the tile and what type of image would occur on top

I participated in my first Illustation Friday topic. And I’m so glad you posted about the Artistic Alchemy Workshop, Leah. It was just the motivation I needed to get groovin’ on an art journal. It started today! Yay!

Great banner Leah! I love the symbolism within… the searching lantern in relation to creativity :) . It has so much texture too!

Lately i’ve been working a little bit with my ANCIENT sewing machine, and also working on creating a collage house for a giveaway on my blog. I recently had my 1000th view! :)

Finally got some photos loaded from a week ago!

I’ve been busy with henna appointments, and both turned out well. One was a goddess figure on a pregnant belly, and the other was Ganesh in flowers across a lady’s shoulders and back.

I’ve also been working on my art journal, as I started taking a workshop with SamanthaKira. No pics of journal yet, but the henna photos are at my blog http://hennarose.blogspot.com

congrats on the Calyx publicatio! I know that one from my poetry days (late 90s) – lovely journal. I never thought about submitting art! You have, once again, broadened my horizons!

The weekend sounds wonderful – except for the burn. I know sunburn wears me out.

You are an inspiration–I am always making art–but I am not too good at marketing it–or getting it shown anywhere….so congrats on your artwork in Calyx magazine. here is my latest piece: SILENT WISDOM

I love looking at what everyone has done – such variety!

I’m having a marvelous time being creative.

I’ve just begun a new challenge and new work should be posted throughout the month.

I just posted a little tutorial on how to use alcohol inks to create backgrounds:

And finished up these at the end of the week:

Hi Leah,
OMG!! I was inspred to create a Yahoo Group for mandala-making addicts…as well as for those who are curious or want to give it a try. It’s a lively, inspiring sharing of conversation and creatiivty. And you, and your readers are invited to join in :) It’s called The Mandala Oasis: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MandalaOasis/ – It’s indeed been an Oasis of sisterhood, and creative exchange.

Cheers! ~Cheryl

Yeah…I’ve been sticking with it. Journaling with pigma pens and H2O’s mostly. Other times, I have the camera. I sure missed this and it’s good to be back creating everyday. ok,now I’m going to check out the mandala group. I love making these. When I feel stuck, they pull me right out.

This weekend I made some new curtians for my studio! I also organized my paints and did a new painting of a little house on a hill overlooking fields. It is like you are looking out of an old arched window. I also had fun with some collages. Roxanne
