Hi Everyone! Well this week I went totally out of little creative box in a class that I took. I blogged about it here… http://www.creativechaos.typepad.com

Okay, I’m going to take what feels to me like a big huge plunge and participate. I am learning to say (a little bit louder) “I am creative. I create art.” Lately I’ve been manipulating 3D pieces in Second Life. For today, I will just include a link to my Flickr Set called “Creating a Second Life Sim.” http://flickr.com/photos/marillaanne/sets/72157603740374733/
I also play with photography … and recently I acquired a new “real” camera. It makes me very nervous.

Well, I learned the outdoor place we’ll be for my son’s wedding this weekend could turn cold, so I quickly made a crocheted shawl (almost done) out of Jiffy silver heather bulky yarn (#5)…which I will trim in black and some fancy silver/black thread/yarn. The hook needed for this easy pattern I found on-line is an “S” hook or”Speed Hook”. It’s big and fat for fast crochet work with bulky yarn.
I’ll post it when I am done (maybe tonight? Maybe tomorrow)…

I’ve been playing with my paints. Just haven’t actually created anything yet. But I will….

I have been working on a series of paintings representing Greek Goddesses. The first one is done. Her name is Nyx and she is the Greek Goddess of night. I love the way it turned out!

Even though I’ve been struggling, I did make some art during the past week, plus took some pictures with my new camera–see my stuff here:

I’m trying to be more aware of the sacred in my every day life, so I’m combining Carla Blazek’s Sacred Life Sunday with your Creative Every Day to make a personal commitment to 100 Days of Sacred Art… http://dragonflyreflections.wordpress.com/2008/08/11/sacred-ordinary/
One down, 99 to go!

This week I’m making rings. May also turn them into earrings and necklaces. With gratitude for my friend Helmi who showed me how to make them!

I finally did it…came around full circle and enrolled in the visual arts program at the very first college I went to in 1991 (and subsequently changed my major in the first week to a non-art program, hence the reason I’m a mental health therapist today). Starting in a few weeks (yes, I am starting out slow): Drawing I and Art History I. I am beyond thrilled and excited.

I did the Inspire Me Thursday prompt, and I was inspired by how quickly and well it went. It was if it was just ready to come pouring out.

I would like to also do some more work this week… to fully flesh out some ideas I’ve had.

I have finally found some inspiration again, and made a perfume design kit as a gift. I posted the pictures, if anyone is interested.

Had some down time recovering from getting my wisdom teeth out & made a necklace set. Also signed up to do an ATC swap just for fun. I’ll be posting the results once my swap partner gets her cards. Went to openning reception at the Iowa State Fair where I have a painting in the Fine Arts show. http://rgrdesigns.blogspot.com/
