Creative Every Day Check-In: Feb. 23rd – March 1st, 2009

February 23rd, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 2/23/09 - 3/1/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you!

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The totally optional theme for February is Words! I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the themes here.

Happy Creating!!

I love the quote, Leah..and it’s so true! — thank you!

I knit a sweater for a tree in the park across the street.

My creative journey for the week is on both my blogs Moxie Blue and Scribbles From Rabbit Hop.

I love the dream prompt, and I love the ink and acrylics you’re using. Your paintings are dreamy and gorgeous, Leah. Thanks for sharing them!

Hi Leah!
My embroidery doodle this week inspired words for me.
I rarley incorporate words into my work so this was a fun surprise.

Ack! we’re already upon March???!!!! how did that happen? are you going to give us a preview of the prompt for March?

This is a poem that incorporates dream, letter and words (since it’s a poem) and an aspect of play. Warning, it is not entirely happy! http://marysreading.blogspot.com/2009/02/surrounded-by-sky.html

I’ve got a new painting that is close to finished. I posted some of my color trials and abstract play with my circle theme. I got to go to a bead show and invested in some new lampwork, so I hope I can carve out a bit of time to make some jewelry and post it soon.

Oooh, I like this theme – especially considering my dream this month that I posted about.

And I’ve been so busy art wise!! I’ve got another piece completed to post – and another two in progress!! I’m on a creative roll.

I’ve been busy with work and school, but I’ve been writing and experimenting with tons of poems–mostly in Japanese forms like haiku, senryu, tanka, and renga.

I hope everyone enjoys what I just wrote today! :)

P.S. I can’t wait to try out the new theme! :)

Come over to see how I incorporated words into my newest mixed-media painting. It’s a piece I made for my new studio…

I’m seeing some real changes coming about in my art, in part because of Creative Everyday. It’s really interesting to watch. Sometimes I don’t know how I got there… except I know I got there by coming back every day.

I guess these paintings are awakening my own sense of wonder.

wow the new theme will be fun to incorporate. the words theme has helped me to look at my art differently as well, and think more about what I want to create. :)

Thank you for some great themes! I found the synchronicity of the words idea for February to be dead on. Just had a conversation with a friend about how our weaknesses are our strengths and viceversa. My wordiness is what she says is exhausting but exciting as well. After we had that talk and thanks to this theme, I thought about how precious words are to me and that I am not willing to give them up. So your blog has inspired me to want to start writing again. That way I can create more private and thoughtful outlets for my words. Thanks, and yes I know this was a wordy comment. She what she meant?! ;)

Check out my blog for a couple of wordy creations!

I am swimming deep in the pools of photos, editing and dancing words.

I’m looking forward to the March theme – dreams. That will work well for me, I think.

hi leah, well, back to comment now…my feminine landscape is about done but not quite so I am posting it for this and next week although I am getting itchy to try my hand at some collage…trying to stick to one thing at a time is impossible for me! loving the look of your new website, it’s lovely and “dreams” sounds like a fabulous theme for spring.

blessings…

Magical Flute:)

I have been the lucky recipient of several giveaways, so decided to have one of my own.

I’m hoping this qualifies as creative!!??

Sorry to list myself twice in a row, but I added two very different posts. This one has a bit of art in it.

Dreams here I come!

A little sketch:)
