Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: March 23rd – March 29th

March 23rd, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 3/23/09 - 3/29/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you!

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The totally optional theme for March is dreams. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.

Happy Creating!!

I dream my painting, and I then paint my dream.

Love this theme. The posts I have shared in the Mr. Linky I wrote some time ago. I promise to write something current just for this challenge, but I did want to share those 2 posts. Happy Dreaming!

I’m so behind on my blogging, but I got a new post up tonight. I have been working more on the business side of creativity getting artwork matted & framed. What a job!
Also need to get back to my dream piece.

I’ve been working on a series I’m calling Jazz on Canvas. You can see photos of my works in progress here: http://gotart4u.blogspot.com/2009/03/jazz-on-canvas.html

Have an art-filled week ahead! xoxo

Created a new line of products this week — for getting rid of those pesky gremlins :) Shared it originally for 12 Secrets, but it is part of my CED, so sharing it here, too… There’s a link to Sweater Fest in the post, too… as another part of my CED this past week was partying in my sweater :)
Miracles!

found some time to doodle this week…..flowers are springing up! my dream is to have time to start and finish a project :)

Hi Leah – I just started a new blog (my first!) and would like to participate. Please add me to the list. Thank you so much. nancy

oy! I’m discovering that when your dreams start to come real it’s a lot of flippin’ work! I’m still painting, but sometimes I don’t finish one every day. And I’m looking to branch out from my standard Flying Girls, a little exploration is good. And I’m exploring Flickr and Twitter and Etsy. Is this part of being creative? Maybe not, but I know showing and selling has always been the part that that intimidates me, so I’m putting it into the challenge.

I have last weeks tinkerings up. hehe

I’ve finished my yellow pages ATCs and am still working on my work in progress from Paulette Insall’s Faces class.

Life is really busy, but you still give me the “kick in the butt” that I need to get myself some time in my art room.

Thanks

xoxo

I’ve really been enjoying this month’s optional dream theme. Thanks for the inspiration, Leah!

Hi All, I have posts on both blogs of some of my creative attempts this week. There are posts of an art doll that I finally finished and a dreamer sketch on Moxie and a personal experience writing on Scribbles. Looking forward to visiting you!

Hi Leah

I am having a great week so far…getting lots done…having loads of fun playing!

I find that when I am very creatively active, my paintings from the day spill into my night and I spend the night painting, or working out some issue I am trying to solve with a painting…back when I went back to school (at 39) in computers, I used to work out my programming problems in my sleep…I would wake up and know what I had to do!

I have been making an effort to remember my dreams this month, for this challenge, but haven’t come across one I want to paint yet!

Thanks again for hosting this Leah!!!

Hi Leah. I’ve posted some more links to past posts about dreams. I want to share these works from the past, it somehow makes them more real. I am tossing around some ideas in my head for a current post about dreams. Thanx for this … for the gift of inspiration you give us all.

ps ~ love your latest painting.

Hi Everyone–you haven’t heard form me in awhile–because I just spent 2 weeks in Ghana, Africa—and I am now creatively everyday writing about my trip–and posting my photos on my blog–so do check it out! this was one of those life-changing journeys…http://foxyartstudio.blogspot.com/

Have a wee piece up as of today. Still enjoying the subject was dreams…

Some fun on Moleskine!:D

Posted a picture of my latest finished (or nearly so) portrait!

Thought I’d join in with the fun. What a wonderful idea!!!

New post up for the first 3 days of this week.

This is a mixed media art journal page using colored wire lace ups instead of glue.

The first-ever link to my little bitty blog. It’s a bit scary, but I’m having a great time working my way through this challenge!

This post is on my Imagik blog–I am getting a sneak peak of the April theme, colors, in a quick sketch of BB.

i am enjoying being a part of this, though it’s only been a few days. so fun.

Leah – this theme has been hard for me, but I persisted & I am so pleased that I did. It has enabled to me to notice things about myself, that were being missed in the rush of life :o )

I have been busy with a lot of things. First, I actually follow the weekly tasks in The Artist Way. Then I started to do a lot of fun things, like pastel drawing, making toys for my daughter…etc.

I finally posted on my blog for the week (a couple of days late!), and I have been creating every day! Still focused on angels and now have moved from sketching only to starting to paint them in watercolor, and experimenting with different painting techniques. My post was on the topic of having BIG DREAMS (not little dreams), and you can read it here:

Thanks! Having fun with this and definitely more productive through participating in the challenge.

I’ve been baking this week, very unusual for me, so I had to blog it! I’ve started preparing for my ScriptFrenzy challenge next month, writing is a creative process, so it still counts towards Creative Every Day! And I’m “creating” a plot, so it’s all good for me right now! To keep to the scriptfrenzy challenge I have to write every day, so that’s definitely in keeping with my Creative Every Day challenge, I’m also hoping to keep up my drawing too! So hopefully I’ll be both drawing and writing every day – double the creative challenge! :)

this is a quick sketch for my digital painting, “poised” (for illustration Friday (the painting is posted to imagik). In the sketch, I tried to use COLOR (April) to draw attention to a small but significant detail in the painting.
