Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: March 2nd – March 8th, 2009
March 2nd, 2009
Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!
This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.
Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 3/2/09 - 3/8/09.
The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you!
You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.
Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.
If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or "Mr. Linky" widget.
Theme: The totally optional theme for March is dreams. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.
Happy Creating!!

I finished a painting and it has been framed and hanging in our living room – for now. The mat cutter came out (along with the instructional video for a refresher lesson) so I could work on getting more art framed. In two months my first solo show will be up, so I need to keeping forging on.

Normally I would post with link to Mother Henna blog — where we do have lots happening, like the Sweater heART Fest:

But wanted my Mister Linky link in the CED post to share a creative Compassion Challenge one of our co-contributors and friends at KotaPress surprised us with this weekend. Invite everyone in CED to do Random Acts of Kindness in honor of someone you love, too!

I’ve learned something important this weekend, and to remind me, I made a mixed media piece for my workspace – which can be seen at my blog
Hope you all had a great inspired weekend

I posted a blog entry with a creative giveaway inspired by the “pay it forward” idea.
Leah, I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate this inspiration from you. It really helps me to stay motivated to take time for creativity whenever possible.
xoxo

Hi Leah! I’ve posted last weeks art sketches on Moxie and a very short written piece on Scribbles. I’m going to have to stop doodling and do some serious stuff…but the doodling is just so much fun! Have a splendid week all!

I am so excited to have just discovered your site! What a wonderful challenge you’ve issued each of us – and I am thrilled to be a part.
I observe “recess” every day for myself. During that time, I’m often creative – sometimes, though – I just use the time for “play”. No matter what, though, I always come away refreshed and recharged.
Looking forward to being a part of all of this!

I try to create something everyday and post it on my blog. I find dreams SO FASCINATING! What a great theme! I am going to try to incorporate some sort of art around the subject of my dreams this week.

I am dreaming of becoming better at drawing faces and to that end I am participating in Paulette Insall’s Faces class. I have posted my first attempt. It is not great, but I will surely improve with practice.

Just posted another link, one I did of zentangles.
Loving that idea of dreams. It’s got me thinking of dreams I’ve had recently and some I still remember from a long time ago. Now to figure out how I want to make that into . . . something.

Pop over to my blog to see an example of the sacred in the ordinary, how I celebrate the everyday. I’d love to hear how you find inspiration, hope, and wonder in the day-to-day.

I think I’m getting my mojo back-finally, finally, finally!! And I have to say it feels great to be able to come over here and say that I did something-thanks for providing us with this opportunity!
