Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: March 30th – April 5th, 2009

March 30th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 3/30/09 - 4/5/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The totally optional theme for March is dreams. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here. The theme for April is color!

Happy Creating!!

I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious.

p.p.s. Join me on a gremlin-busting, playful Art Picnic happening on Saturday, April 25th!

A few weeks ago I bought a bunch of new canvases to work towards entering some art shows…now that I have a new tent!!! Then I got a virus and was laid up for over a week. Plenty of time to lay there and have he gremlins tell me how I couldn’t do it and that I worked to slow…etc…ya’ll know the drill! Towards the end of the illness I had a dream that I knocked out a portrait faster than ever and everyone one ooohing and aahing over how lovely it was and how focused and determined I had been to have completed it so fast! Poo on those gremlins…I am listening to the dreams!

Thanks for your blog comment Leah! :)

I’m starting my ScriptFrenzy script this week – Wednesday is the 1st of April. The challenge is to write 100 pages of script in the 30 days of April, so it’s definitely going to be a challenge! I also plan to keep going with my drawing, though I haven’t done as much in the last few days, I’ll keep you posted with my art and any other creative things I manage to do on my Dreamspace Blog – http://dreamspace212.blogspot.com and I also have my writing blog to keep you updated with my ScriptFrenzy writing – http://agalaxyofdreams.blogspot.com
You’ll also find a short piece of fiction I wrote on Saturday on there! :)

found time to play last week, finally- spring seems to bring color inspiration with it!

As the weather is getting nicer it is getting harder to spend time indoors in the art room.

I need to learn to take my supplies onto the screened porch to work.

C’mon Spring!

I’ve been doodling a lot lately.. one of them was about a snake dream I had.. snake was shedding his skin but only to a certain point and then he stopped. I love and record all my dreams :-)

Just put up some of my newest art journal pages.

Is it “creative” to be seriously job hunting right now (it seems to be sucking all the creativity out of me)???? I am endeavoring to make this task as creative as I can each day (rather than daunting). I do hope I’m not stretching the definition of creative and creativity too much by this comment….

Started a painting that is not going the way I envisioned. I don’t usually seek feedback from blogland on a WIP, but I decided to post and see if anyone has something to say that will unlock my mind on this one. Thanks in advance.

Chemical sensitivity has meant I have to find some new ways to make art. Right now I’m going through old homemade papers from earlier projects and getting creative with them. I’m also getting inspiration from the environmental movement.

Hi Leah ! Hi there to all the wonderful CED participants !
It is April 1st today ! Imagine ! Spring is really here. I am working with a great new book from Sheri Gaynor called “Creative Awakenings”. It feels so perfect for this time of the year and this time of my life. Did a post today about “Tending Your Garden of Dreams”. It’s April. It’s time !

Love the April theme!

This week I started working on something that’s been a dream of mine… a studio! Or, in this case, a dedicated work area in the extra/laundry room downstairs. But it’s coming together and I’m thrilled. Plus I began the backgrounds for some new, bold, vibrant paintings that will let me play with lots of color!

Hi, I’ve done several creative things this week, including spending time with friends and family, trying to come up with a different schedule for everything, working with charcoal for a change, writing a few short pieces, getting a third blog up and running, and I have two paintings that have been started for a while sitting here waiting to be finished, hopefully this week. Not everything got posted on my blogs, but I have a few new posts on Moxie Blue and Scribbles from Rabbit Hop for this past week. I just posted a true story on Scribbles this morning.

Looking forward to visiting all of your blogs. I’ve gotten way behind in the last few days. :) Have a wonderful week!

Experimenting this week making vivid textured backgrounds with heavy-bodied acrylics… http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/wavy-acrylic-textures.html.

Finally got one more dreaming post up. Thanks again for all the inspiration and support, Leah!xo

I’m still keeping a creativity log (so far there have only been three days in 2009 that I *haven’t* been creative, which astonishes me and is very encouraging); though lately the stuff I’ve been doing has taken a private turn, so I haven’t been feeling like sharing. But I’ve been doing it.

I also went and bought that (Robert?) Moss book on dreams you mentioned at the beginning of March, and I’m finding it very interesting.

I’ve been sort of in an inbetween stage, since I’m working on converting a spare room in the house into my own studio room. But it’s going slowly with everything in transition it is tricky to find a place to work.

So, I don’t know. But I thought I should check in. :)

Easter Bunny :P

It seems like I haven’t put my name on this list in so long. But I’m been here nevertheless. I have been taking the photography class, “Oh Shoot” on the Jessica Sprauge site for the last 5 weeks and so have been doing a fair amount of photography and doing it differently than I usually do, so even though it has been a bit frustrating, it seems I have been learning quite a bit in spite of that. I even took photos yesterday of my latest mixed media piece with my camera on the tripod, on manual mode! I’ll be posting that soon. Thanks so much for the daily inspiration. I can’t believe we are four months into this already, I’ve never felt so truly an artist.

Okay, I put a couple of art journal pages up on my blog. And both are about color!

Hi Leah and everybody

I’ve been very bad at coming back to the site to post updates, but I have been creative almost every day and have done lots of drawing and painting and a bit of crochet. I just hope I can keep it up!

Aveen
