CED Challenge Check-In: May 11th – May 17th

May 11th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 5/11/09 - 5/17/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for May is nature. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.

Happy Creating!!

As I paint, I feel waves of energy flowing through me,
like the currents of the ocean.
My hands are guided by the creative force.

working in the garden has made me very appreciative of may’s theme…. as will my trip next week to yellowstone to see all sorts of wild life. spring is amazing!

I finally found some time to post about the Golden workshop I was in a couple weeks ago as well as more pictures from the museum with my art show.
This may be my last post for a couple of weeks because of my schedule.

While the theme might be nature, I am finding more inspiration on this blog on how to tame my nature – my cluttery nature that is. My creativity seem to be going into how to organize my creative space.

I wrote my first haiku since Jr. High for a Haiku festival today.

water color sketches of tulips and BB done at mother’s day dinner.

Your blog keeps my focus on being creative even on the days when I’m not “producing” anything. That’s keeping my brain fertile and watered for the days when the sun breaks through!

The little flower pot at the top of the post was special – students gave it to me for mother’s day. So sweet.
Everywhere I looked this weekend there were flowers blooming everywhere. Just didn’t have my camera with me! Will have to get out this week to get shots.
Take care.

Some days I don’t think I am being very creative-until I stop and think–planting the strawberry plants today was a creative process–creating that coconut creme pie from scratch was a creative act–playing cards with my daughter and boyfriend was a creative act….I want to thank you for opening my heart and mind to being more aware and thereby being more creative-and more satisfied with things when I don’t think I am doing enough….

This post is a recap of my Mothers’ Day weekend spent with my Mom. It was wonderful and I am so lucky and grateful that my soon to be 85 year old Mom has all her faculties and is a great pleasure to visit.

Finally got to write down ideas and post pictures of the art challenge “Nature”.
So far the journey has felt new and exciting and can’t wait to continue to grow and expand my hirizons which ever way it takes. Picture of Mother Nature was done purely through just going with the flow, allowing the brush to wheel its way without planning and rubbing out any ‘mistakes’, it was quite liberating!

I never heard from the initial winner of the bookbinding book by Keith Smith, so I’ve chosen another.

Interesting that both of them were Vicki – different spelling, but both basically same first name as mine.

Just a little piece about the spring…

this is my first time posting with your group ~ and I think I may have accidentally posted twice ~ so please don’t think I’m crazy ~ just trying to learn my way around :0
My inspiration this week came from Edward Hoppers “Rooms by the Sea” painting.
I am looking forward to seeing other creative spots.
cheers

And it doesn’t just have to be paint… I think I’ll let some of this random creativity on the computer turn into some paintings in real paint. That would be a fun cross-over.

Just a little atr journal post on Norway wins the Eurovision Song Contest and that 17. may is the Norwegian constitution day.
