CED Challenge Check-In: May 25 – May 31

May 25th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 5/25/09 - 5/31/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

UPDATE: There's been an issue with the Mr. Linky servers. I'm not sure how it's going to be resolved, but if the widget is missing please leave your link in the comments. Thank you!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for May is nature. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.

Happy Creating!!

It should not be hard for you to stop sometimes and look into the stains of walls, or ashes of a fire, or clouds, or mud or like places, in which... you may find really marvellous ideas. ~Leonardo da Vinci

Hi Leah
I posted this with your last week’s challenge but it happened Sat. so thought I would repost. Hope to be out and about this week to soak in nature!

Hi Leah,
I branched out today and made a peach pie ;)
And I’m still absorbing some Picassos I saw the other day at the Nasher Museum in Dallas . I’ll be posting about the outdoor gardens this week. I posted on the indoor sculptures and paintings last week at my other blog, http://www.miedrichluo.blogspot.com

Hi Leah~

It was a gorgeous weekend in OH! There will be poppies galore popping up at the tree house this week.

Count me in! ;-)

Posted an image from my colour piece here. Now to get my nature piece finished and posted.

Hi Leah and everyone in CED. I have been a bit absent the past couple of weeks – have been busy moving my blog and other family obligations. However, I have been busy doing art also, which is a good thing and keeps me happy and sane! Here is a blog post I did with something from nature to decorate my art journal pages and am finally getting to post about.

I hope it’s ok to post twice here – the last post was meant to go in last week and I never got to it. This URL represents another couple of “encounters” with nature that I also posted about in my blog this week. Thanks!

Hello Leah and everyone else. I’ve been busy putting the finishing touches to a photo scavenger hunt this week, but alongside that I did find some time to take photographs of ‘abstract’ beach images. I’ll be posting some of them throughout this week. I’m now thinking ahead to June and ’sound’! I’ve also taken up Marina’s Pay it Forward offer and am inviting three creative bloggers to take me up on the same thing.
Best wishes,
Janice.

HI Leah and all…
Wow is it good to be back here. I’ve been bus decluttering and organizing my studio space…finally, I stopped to make something (a doll for a friend….but no pics yet – so instead, here’s my mandala: “Revealing” – just in time for Spring:

I look forward to seeing your inspiring art!

It’s been such a busy week with my dd’s birthday and finding out how creative we can get in the kitchen with cake decorating tools.

I’ve worked on dolls and writing and drawing and moving forward with manifesting….

I am so grateful for this support network here.
Thank you, Leah, and thank you all just for being here.

Now I have to decide what to do with the huge leaf waiting for me on the kitchen table-

The good weather this month has made the nature theme an easier one for us to follow. I have uploaded a few pictures to the flickr group (I hope – not great with these things so it might not be there!)

Hi Leah! I’m really enjoying your new pieces.

I’m not getting much done creatively this week. Still squeezing in a doodle drawing and painting a day, small ones. I am having to be creative with finding time to be creative. I have so many projects in mind, both writing and art, as well as, some other things. Life is interrupting the flow right now, but that’s ok.

I have posted a little pink elephant drawing on Moxie Blue this week. I have a drawing for every day. Just don’t have pictures made. At least I’m doing something creative to feed my soul every day though, and I’m loving it. Thanks for giving us a place to share. :)

Hello Leah and friends,

Summer is the beginning of a busy time for us as a family. Hope that I can sneak in now and then to get inspired and to share. I’ve been getting ready for a gallery show the past few weeks. Here is a link to what I have going in the gallery next week.

There is still so much left to do today alone for this Nature theme…it’s amazing. I love how the theme segues into so much of my other work!

I have already begun to look around and ponder how to incorporate next month’s theme…sound…and am looking forward to doing so. :-)

Hi all,

I’ve been “hooked on fish” lately, if you’ll forgive the phrase! I’ve been making ACEOs with a fish theme — and have a whole school of them to post. Drop on by and take a look…

A month of nature inspiration, posted. Thanks, Leah. That was a great theme.

Since there was no Mr. Linky on this post I figure I will add mine here. I have just a few drawings to share.

Well, it’s almost eleven o’clock at night on the second to the last day of the month and I just signed up for this challenge. Pretty sneaky, eh? But, seriously, I just decided to do it. I didn’t do anything nature-themed today, except water my mesquite trees and pull some dead, dry things that have been petrifying in my stone garden since last fall. I did post a new blog post today on “The Color of White” and I’ve been experimenting with a painting technique on a new painting. Hopefully, that’s good enough. :-)
