CED Challenge Check-In: August 3rd – 9th

August 3rd, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 8/3/09 - 8/9/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for August is move. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.

Happy Creating!

Lots and lots of henna gigs this month! Mucho fun :)

I’m back at making my atc’s for the upcoming art cruise w/Tim Holtz and Wendy Vecchi. Almost finished – yippee! In between those, I found some wood children’s domino game pieces that were just the right size to make some pendants. So that’s what I did. AND, I’m having a fun little giveaway on my blog that’s going on right now.

Won’t you stop by and see them and try your hand at winning one? *smiles*

Keep creating . . . EVERY DAY! xoxo

i am mostly playing in my watercolour moleskine journal, i want to do a whole series of different kinds of self portraits as part of my creative journaling workshop.
and i will be moving a lot this month too… going to order a giant truckload of limestone for my garden. i have created my sanctuary garden in my back yard.

Love the theme this month, it totally fits in with my feelings and plans for the month. My creativity since joining this group has been to create a home that fits me…… It had been a dysfunctional muddle for ages. However, the next phase is to get back to my art, so MOVE is PERFECT.
I have challenged myself to create a 12X12 mini quilt every two weeks for 3 months. The current theme is Openings. If anyone would like to join me in my “moving back to art challenge……” I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks Leah. Shirley

Just finished doing a drawing a day for a year. Would love for you all to check it out. Thanks to Leah for the forum to share and all the encouragement

I’m traveling for a few days this week. I hope to do some sketches and take a few photos. Who knows, maybe the move will inspire new art.

I have been art journaling up a storm, writing like always and am in rehearsal for “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” the strangest thing is I haven’t really been into taking photos except of my art journaling?

and yes, that is a question mark, because I am wonder what is up with that…

lots of input, not much output over the weekend, but it will come :)

I would love to participate in this creative adventure. Right now I have alot of projects on the burner. I’m making vintage domino pendents that I have alcohol inked (new for me & I love them), usual weekly challenges, I own a small gift store & I’m making my Gothic Arches into cards for sale, working on silver spoon wind chimes, what else? My shop is also my studio & my refuge. Excited about joining this group & getting to know everone!

Leigh, I checked out your blog -drawing everyday for a year. It’s fantastic, I wished I seen it sooner! So, are you going to continue with the blog, or leave it as is?

I’m looking forward to the month of “move”. Now I can sing out loud and do a jig at the same time! Combining themes is my way of not being sad when one theme finishes and another begins!

Kerry.

Hi Leah! Love your painting and the post about moving. Things are moving and changing around here too. Mostly me. :) I posted a couple of sketches titled “Stars in her eyes…and on her face” about a girl trying to move up in the world.

I also got out my oil paints and worked on a dog portrait that I started 12 years ago. I re-painted the background and refined the eyes. It’s almost done! I’ll post a picture when it is. It had been a long time since I painted in oils, and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. I’ve been loving playing with watercolors for a while.

And I printed off my blog posts with art and mini-stories so that I could complete the stories later on my Scribbles blog or perhaps in a book. Having a creative good time! Plus, I’m moving and shakin with ya! :)

I’ve been away at my Mom’s this week so no art, but I did find some goodies at second hand stores while browsing with her.

xoxo

Hi Leah!
I …was MOVED when I read about Wishcraft and the idea of being a color….so I had great fun with that and have challenged my siblings to let me know what color they are (I probably could figure it out…but maybe they will surprise me!)And it was a gorgeous day here yesterday so I was MOVED to take my dog on a wonderful nature trail here…working on my daily 10,000 steps (yesterday was the first time I achieved it)! So, no art created..but I MOVE(D)!
