Creative Every Day Challenge: August 31 – September 6

August 31st, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 8/31/09 - 9/6/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for August is move and for September it's inspiration. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the move theme here and the inspiration theme here.

Happy Creating!

Am I the first? Oh my! *is shy*

Okay, so this is Clark Kent. My very first *comic hero* drawing. Well, the first one since I was a child… ^.~

Have a great week! <3

Leah~~

I’m moving. Literally. See what you set in motion~~ =]

i am inspired to play by some new books i’ve gotten- look forward to seeing the results!

well I’m really moving now as well as being inspired by Leah’s energy..I have joined flickr and uploaded 3 pieces! Yipes..my “stuff” is out there now. That’s a committment, yes?

inspiration – love it leah! i am feeling huge inspiration flowing in my life and looking forward to reading your inspiring posts all month!
i am (still!) working on creativity kits. turning my workshops into kits is not as simple as i thought it would be. the good part of that is that the kits are turning out way better than i had imagined, so it is a delight to spend more time working on them. but really, this month i want to finish the first one.
i also became inspired to do my first online advertisements and excited to see what comes of that.

Hi Leah! I seem to have gotten a jumpstart on next month’s theme instead of being behind, like I usually am. :) I have been inspired by so many people this week that I have tried many new things. Looking forward to seeing how everyone else is inspired. Have a great, creative week all!

A final post about moving “from” a place, now time to look and move forward.

I come here often for inspiration and I’m looking forward to focusing on it for a month.

I’m in need of inspiration. It seems to hit me and leave me all within a day. I want to hang on to it. I’m looking forward to this month’s challenge, thanks Leah.

Hi Leah and everyone, Mine’s a catch-up post covering activity throughout August around the theme of Move. Looking forward to Inspiration, and to many more of your inspirational posts, Leah. I hope your own move is going well and that you’ll soon be settled in your new home.
Janice.

Hi Leah – Got inspired to get the acrylic paints out last week – had to find them first! Moved my son back up to UConn on Saturday for fall semester and found all sorts of things during packing and organizing. The house is too quiet but there’s a lot more room around here right now. Been thinking about your move and hope everything goes well.

Hi Leah,
I like the new theme, as I am out of inspiration. Thought your moving (hope it goes well) inspired me to repaint my kitchen (in the near future).
I began to write some tutorials (thoughts) about natural talent for drawing and learning to draw and I would be happy to hear your thoughts about this too.
I wish everyone a beautiful week.

Today I woke up with a sore throat and achy bones..after a very busy weekend and 2 days taking care of the grandchildren. My body is telling me to stop and take a break and that is what I am going to do. Lay around and read some art mags and soak up some inspiration. Reading always inspires me and I too am trying not to “force” the creativity but to let it happen when it will. I am not patient so it’s a process for me but I am really trying to be laid back and let my well replenish itself.

Hi Leah, I was finally inspired to get going on a long-intended series of mixed media paintings on the subject of Calabria, Italy. It’s been at the back of my mind for 2 years now and I’ve been doing some prep work (lots of ruminating) during that time, on and off. Finally, the switch has been flipped to on! I find that I have to have a bit of a day “off” between each painting. Down time is very important in the creative process…as long as we’re careful not to let it really bring us down!

Inspiration in the form of film around here this week! :)

It has been a while since I posted a blog entry. It’s not that I haven’t been creating, just that in all the creating I have been doing, I have not taken the time to blog about it. I have been working on a project that is taking a lot more time and energy than I ever anticipated. My usual (PAST!) pattern had been to get tired and bored with it and quietly let it fade away. This one I am happy to say I am finished with – at least the painting part of it! I am really inspired now to finally be able to share it (soon!). Do I dare to think that it just may be something that can touch peoples’ lives? That’s my wish anyway. I have been showing glimpses of the paintings I have done for this project on my blog.

For a future painting, I really like the idea of doing a painting inspired by a favorite artist. Who shall it be??? We’ll see I suppose!

Hey there ! This is a great theme, Miss Leah ! There is always so much inspiration to be found here – you are fabulous at sharing where you get yours, as well as giving us ideas to spur us on ! Love That !
I was inspired today by a book that was published exactly one year ago yesterday – the book “Life is a Verb” by Patti Digh. Patti has inspired me to live mindfully, be here now, and to make connections with others on a really heartfelt level. Today, she inspired me to face my fears and create a video and post in on my blog ! Yikes !!!! But I did it !

I will check back in to get some more juicy inspiration from all the great participants here. Happy September, everyone !

I’m back home and playing with Photoshop to make art.

Such fun!

xoxo
