Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: August 17 – 23

August 17th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 8/17/09 - 8/23/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for August is move. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the theme here.

Happy Creating!

Not too often I get to be first! lol
I have been working tonight to creat my affirmation card for the week. As well as I work through the Vision Journalling, I am trying to post the collages there.

Hi Leah,

I’ve added a bit to my “hand” collage and am working on organizing my space a bit. I am hoping to play with encaustics later today and will post again tomorrow.

xoxo

i long to STOP moving and be able to sit down & make some art! my leap this week is to prepare a 1/2 hour talk on transfers for a local arts group- wish me luck!

depending on the weather… this week i’d like to take my journals to the beach, spend some time just lying in the sand – drawing, writing, napping.

I just found your beautiful blog, and your Creative Every Day challenge really resonates with what I’ve been trying to do. Two springs ago I challenged myself to be creative once a week. I’ve become more creative and produced more work than I ever had before with that. I want to take the next step with my creativity and if it’s not too late I’d love to join your challenge.

Thanks so much for this great blog and for connecting with the InterPlay community.

I love the topic for August: MOVE! And I love all the interpretations of MOVING! I shall take the more literal approach in terms of actually moving my body. I just returned from Boston where I attended an expressive arts conference. I experienced a wonderful workshop called New Song Long Dance: Creative Cauldron of Invidual and Community which was facilitated by Deborah Koff-Chapin who is the creator of Touch Drawing. As always, I’m MOVED by the rich experience of feeling my unique expression within a community through a ritual. It was a true immersion into the Dance!

It’s been another fun week! In addition to trying to mindfully creative each day, I’ve also embraced the theme of MOVE and have to decided to move into action and get some organizing done (believe me – this takes a LOT of creative juice for me)!! :)

I admired how wonderful reflections on water can be, how quickly they change as the sun and the water move.
They are so beautiful but most of the time we don’t even realize that they are there.

I posted a collage picture I did representing different types of movement

I’ve been concentrating on living in the moment. For me, this has emphasized movement. By saying things like I am vacuuming, I am washing, (erk, housework!) it brings more focus on my movements.

I’m sure it’s only because this is the month of Move, that I am paying particular attention to it.

I’ve added a bit to my “hand” collage and tried my hand at a rose of sharon. I am not totally pleased with it, but every attempt is a learning experience.

Hi, Leah!

xoxo

Hi everyone, I’ve been experimenting with a long lost Rapidograph set and Bombay white india ink, it’s taking my spare moments this week! http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/rapidograph-india-ink.html

Hello All! I’m not getting much done period these days, but especially creative wise, and I’m feeling withdrawal symtoms. LOL I NEED to wet a paint brush, and I got a new printer that I’m playing with some. I posted a painted piece for CED, but I took my camera out to feed the pets this morning and took some shadow photos, just for fun, and I used one for another challenge. It’s on my blog also. I may post some more later.

I love reading all of your blogs and comments and seeing your projects. I am inspired by you every time. :)

I got a ‘move’ on it by taking a class at Castle In The Air here in Berkeley, California. It was a lot of fun, see some of my samples on my blog if you would be so kind.

Keep on creating ladies!

Hi, Leah! I just really LOVED your interview with Cynthia Winton-Henry and Interplay. I just wrote a blog post about movement in my creative life and how that “hand dance” is something that even I can do! Hooray!! Thanks for sharing her with us. I was quite inspired by her work.
