Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: September 28 – October 4

September 28th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 9/28/09 - 10/4/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here.

If you want to sign up to be a part of the challenge, leave a comment on this post or email me to let me know. When you contact me, please let me know how you'd like to be listed in the list of participants, which resides in the right sidebar (I can list you as your name or as a link to a blog if you have one. A blog is not required to participate!) Please email or comment to let me know you're participating before you start posting links in the comments or on the "Mr. Linky" widget.

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for September is inspiration. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the inspiration theme here. October's theme will be connect and you read more about that theme here.

Happy Creating!

Just wanted to say thanks for providing these wonderful themes. Inspiration has been a big one. Looking forward to “connect”.
Take care

Everyday I work on my creativity in some way, but I haven’t been posting to my blog much lately. I’m working on some new paintings that a gave sneak peeks to.

Since I only found this blog yesterday, I started my art-journal with “connect” theme, but for the last few days of September, I’ve joined in for the “inspiration” as well. I look forward to exploring it further. I am creative everyday, usually with writing, but also aim to do more with art now.

I love your themes, and looking forward to seeing what all the other participants come up with. No doubt I will learn a lot from here.

The fall is the connection between myself and the Earth. October is my birth month. Thank you for always making a true connection with us, to, Leah~

Soooo much happening over here… just posted link in Mister Linky for our Day of the Dead project — 5 spots left if anyone else is interested in playing along!

And just finished the cover art for a new cookbook that is coming out — they are still calling for content, recipes, you know… if anyone is interested in that, you can see details:

I’ll be posting the cover art on Facebook later today…

And the heART of Life & Death workshop is now online as a self paced course — we’ve posted a free podcast of one of the session MP3 so people can hear a bit of what the session is like:

Looooove living art-full-ly :)
Miracles to all…
k-

i am having a creative play week :) :) :) :) nothing but painting, art journaling, finishing up my creativity kits and working on a special new project. i love this week.

For the first time in weeks, my calendar is not overloaded with events (except for the belated retirement party my family is throwing for me on Sat.) so I plan on spending more time creating whatever bubbles to the surface!! Happy creating all…

photos on my blog of a stream that i was especially inspired by this weekend…… connection is a great follow up to inspiration- getting deeper into what inspires us, perhaps?

I continue to be inspired to work on my Calabria mixed-media series. I haven’t been this enthusiastic or as engaged in creating a body of work in years! I think I’ve found my style. At least for awhile! It’s great having some encouragement from the outside world coming in through through my blog; things can get lonely in the studio!

My first oil painting without solvents is called “Thin Red Line.” It’s an internal landscape about holding firm despite limited resources.

A very small, very elegant photoshop tutorial.

Phew! This month’s theme has been so inspiring, Leah. I haven’t been creating along the theme of inspiration, but understanding on a deep level where and why I get my inspiration! As with all the themes for the last few months this is also leading on perfectly to something I want to explore for ‘connect’! Hope all is well with you and your new home, Leah, and best wishes to everyone else in this CED community!
Janice.

I’m new to the community and already buzzing with creative inspiration. I’ve been writing every morning for at least an hour…more if I can manage it. I’ve noticed if I just show up at the page, inspiration appears. Sometimes the words flow right away, sometimes it takes a while to warm up.

I had a new idea this morning that I will explore for the rest of the week – use the song that is on my mind when I wake up as my jumping off point. I’m also going to write at lunch time instead of playing solitaire.

Very exciting!

Gifts received and more Photoshop!

Thanks so much for visiting and the lovely comments.

xoxo

I decided to check in today even though I haven’t blogged about any new artwork since the last time. I thought that since the new theme is “connect”, which I haven’t read about yet, that I would at least CONNECT in this way. I have been writing a lot this past week (in my morning pages journal) though not much actual painting or artwork. I am working on marketing (looking for a publisher!) for my big art project which is very uncomfortable and unfamiliar, and it is throwing me off. However, no reason to disconnect because of it. So here I am! Hope everyone has had a great week and I send you wishes for a fabulous October!

I connected origami cranes with stress in my poem (somehow)! lol :)

Enjoy!

Dear Leah,

I would love to join in for October’s challenge, though I don’t often post every day. I post when I feel to express myself, but this dedication to express everyday sure sounds like a good way to connect with our inner selfs. Whatever happens, it will flow.

I would like to be included to be included on the side blogroll if possible, and only by my blog’s name.

My blog is: Expressive World – http://expressiveworld.com

Thank you, and keep shining. :)

P.S-My art is in various forms, including writing and insightful messages. I hope that can count to this most creative challenge as I feel that is where the true expressions reveal themselfs.

Also I have just added the CED logo design onto my blog.

Thank you for such an inspirational idea.

I also very much like your Month every day art. I think that’s a great idea. I had been waiting for something like that to start. I’ll let you know if I’m also interested in joining in on that one later.
