Art Every Day Month Check-In: November 21st

November 21st, 2009

aedmlogored

Today is the 21st day of Art Every Day Month. The final stretch! Keep on taking good care of yourself throughout this process. Self-care is so important when we take on a creative challenge like this. What is one small, kind thing could you do to take care of yourself today?

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the AEDM info page for all the details, then send me an email to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. (If that email link isn't working, you can email me at leah at bluetreeartgallery.com)

Instructions: Please see the Art Every Day Month Instructions post if you have any confusion about how to post your link or how to sign up.

Twitter: Are you participating in AEDM and you're on Twitter too? I'm on there as @leah_art and I've been using the hashtag #aedm to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. I also started a Twitter list for AEDM which can help you easily find Twitter folks who are participating. If you're not on the Twitter list yet and would like to be, send me a DM (Direct Message on Twitter.)

Don't be afraid.  Don't be daunted.  Just do your job.  Continue to show up for your piece of it, whatever that might be.  If your job is to dance, do your dance.  If the divine cock-eyed genius assigned to your case decides to let some sort of wonderment be glimpsed for just one moment, through your efforts, then olé!  And if not, do your dance anyhow, and olé to you nonetheless. ~Elizabeth Gilbert in her fabulous TED talk on Nurturing Creativity.

I’m going to sleep late!

Hopefully find something tasty to eat!

And try not to fret and stew too much…….

Wonderful talk by Gilbert. Thank you for posting it.

today i can see in me how powerfull it is to go on art everyday and i thanks leah and motherhenna to have give me a chance to be part of this programm, it is a discovery for me to see that i can go as this far in sharing y art the way it is, good or not for others, it is good for me!

Today I did a random act of kindness….I drove a tipsy university girl back to her residence. She had wandered quite far from downtown and was all alone without warm clothes.

Random acts of kindness keep me from focusing on myself too much. That keeps me happy to make others happy.

P.S. I knit a mitten during a twilight movie marathon!

I’m going to sneak in some creative time at work today. Yes, I work on Saturdays. Ugh.

I also did some writing yesterday. Yay!

Dear Leah,
This Art Every Day Month is an amazing journey as we are all discovery ourselfs and each other.
Today I continued with my friends crewel embroidery present. It is so wonderful to watch it grow into different colours and shapes.
Everytime I work on it, I have the same love for it but I am always within a new experience and often can be reflecting, thinking, or neither and just enjoying that moment. It’s amazing what we bring into ourselfs in experience.
If this gets posted successfully than I’d like you to know that I have been having trouble posting on your inkblots post as everytime I submit a comment, it takes me to the 401 Easy Tiger Page.
Have a super weekend! :)

Wanted to finish a little ditty I was writing about my “muse” for today’s post but can’t find the notebook I started writing it in…sigh…on my way out right now so maybe later. But I did do some reworking of a piece I did last week. The jury is still out on wheter I improved it or made it worse…lol! Happy Saturday all!

i am going to prepare for a joyous thanksgiving holiday- much needed after the week we’ve had. oh, and make some art:)

I’ve run into some difficulty at a couple of blogs claiming my IP address has been identified as spam. This is a new wrinkle in technology’s periodic mystery that makes communicating with artists participating here a bit more daunting. But I shall not be deterred if I run into it again, if I can find an email address. The art I’ve been seeing here is too marvelous not to be acknowledged. Such an amazing community. Thanks, Leah, for making it all happen

I posted a tag “Love is the Key”. I am going to remember that today as I go to a paraded with my love (and I don’t like parades, even). Then for me, a cozy evening home tonight. Have a wonderful weekend.

Today’s art is directly inspired by the Zentangles I have seen from other AEDM artists. I wish I had saved the URLs so I could highlight them on a future blog post.

Zentanglers, please send me your links!

Today I gave myself the luxury of yoga – I love the stillness that comes from yoga. I hope to carry that stillness thru my day and weekend!

Taking time for a walk before the craziness hits. Thanks for the reminder, Leah!

I love today’s quote. How inspirational.

Thank you again, as always
