Art Every Day Month Check-In: November 24th

November 24th, 2009

aedmlogored

Today is the 24th day of Art Every Day Month. Some days it's just one foot in front of the other, one tiny step at a time. Keep on taking those tiny steps forward. You're doing fabulously!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the AEDM info page for all the details, then send me an email to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. (If that email link isn't working, you can email me at leah at bluetreeartgallery.com)

Instructions: Please see the Art Every Day Month Instructions post if you have any confusion about how to post your link or how to sign up.

Twitter: Are you participating in AEDM and you're on Twitter too? I'm on there as @leah_art and I've been using the hashtag #aedm to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. I also started a Twitter list for AEDM which can help you easily find Twitter folks who are participating. If you're not on the Twitter list yet and would like to be, send me a DM (Direct Message on Twitter.)

The best ideas come unexpectedly from a conversation or a common activity like watering the garden. These can get lost or slip away if not acted on when they occur. ~Ruth Asawa

This goes to show you that not all art is beautiful! :)

This hat, in its ugliness has a certain charm. Only very special people can wear it well.

I spent the day working on lights in the yard,I’ve been singing Christmas songs.I’ve also been asking myself what I’m Thankful for.I have a long list.

I am not sure if I will have internet tommorow, so I would like to wish all a Happy Thanksgiving today. Being part of this challenge has given me something to be thankful for.

It was a day with creative miracles and surprises.

Good morning creative lovlies. I enjoyed the Rapunzel painting with it’s many layers and textures. You can look at it for a long time and keep seeing it in a different way. I enjoy art that is thought provoking. My post yesterday (sun rise) was some intuitive prose that just flowed out of my pen. I find it easier to do with my writing than with my art so I will enjoy listening to the material Leah provided as a guide….

busy busy! i’m lucky to make small steps the last few days…

today, for me, it’s all about being messy.

So sorry to hear about your grandmother, Leah. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I love the angel you did and I firmly believe it was her. I have been working on pieces when family mememers have died. It is like apart of them living on. So cherish that one as if it were her. I love all your ink blots! So cool. Makes me want to get my journal out & try them again, but alas I am busy cleaning house for my in-laws so art will have to wait til after the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving!I know it will be a hard one this year without her.

Its been a hell of a ride but so worth it..My thoughts are with you during this time.

Today’s post is another Zentangle, drawn during my two morning classes on prayer and the prophets. The post addresses one of my favorite topics, how we express ourselves when we are really angry. I would love to hear what works for you.
Hugs,
Sandy

I’m totally digging my Alice Flying Girl series. I had no idea this was where I was going when I started AEDM. I guess this just goes to show we should just follow the journey, even though we don’t know where it is going when we start out.

Hey Rowena, Your “Alice Flying Girl” is very cool! My posting today is a “how I do the things I do” type posting. Being a watercolor person, I need to do value studies….and sometimes I actually do! Enjoy.

Hello new friends. Iam a kindergarten teacher at the Living Wisdom School of Seattle. My life feels like an expression of art in all I do. I forgot my camera at school this afternoon.

Our Thanksgiving celebration is; “stone soup”. There’s a new version,by John Muth Watercolors done of china. Beautiful.
The story has soup, and lanterns in the setting. Today we made both the soup and made lanterns. . Tomorrow our blessing will be for the children to share their light with the world. Our school, has touched many countries,Thailand,
England, France. Germany,Italy and India. This is through staff members being trained at our school, visitors, or students who have moved to foreign countries. We are grateful this Thanksgiving. Our light expands the globe. We are a small school but mighty in spirit!
I just completed making over 5 dozen hand painted cookies in world shapes that the children will receive after placing their lanterns on handpainted trees tommorrow. We also made luminaries for the tables. I will try to upload photos when I can if you are interested More inspirations to share with all later this week!.

Dear Leah,
Hope you are well.
I have been away and I am happy to say that my crewel embroidery present touched my friend in a very powerful way. :) It was much liked by everyone and she was very impressed and overwhelmed with my stiching.
I completed it on the tuesday 24th November. :)
