Art Every Day Month Check-In: November 27th

November 27th, 2009

Today is the 27th day of Art Every Day Month. So close to the end of this particular journey. How would you like to wrap things up? What would make a beautiful ending for you?

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the AEDM info page for all the details, then send me an email to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. (If that email link isn't working, you can email me at leah at

Instructions: Please see the Art Every Day Month Instructions post if you have any confusion about how to post your link or how to sign up.

Twitter: Are you participating in AEDM and you're on Twitter too? I'm on there as @leah_art and I've been using the hashtag #aedm to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. I also started a Twitter list for AEDM which can help you easily find Twitter folks who are participating. If you're not on the Twitter list yet and would like to be, send me a DM (Direct Message on Twitter.)

Sometimes when you think you are done, it is just the edge of beginning. Probably that's why we decide we're done. It's getting too scary. We are touching down onto something real. It is beyond the point when you think you are done that often something strong comes out.--Natalie Goldberg

I finished a project today! So nice when that happens, specially when it is before the deadline.

Have a happy day creating today. happy thanksgiving to all Americans, and happy Eid for all Muslims

I would just like to finish my necklace!!!!

And maybe make a tiny start on something else so I can show everyone that I actually do other things……

What I would like to do: is show my gratitude to all the kind people that visited my blog, and I hope that we will continue to share our creations with each other. Myself, I will keep visiting your blogs because they are so inspiring.
Thank you Leah :D

Today no Dip-A-Dee but a blogpost about Creative Commons.
I hope you can forgive me this posting, I thought it can be helpful to us, being creative every day and sharing that creativity on the internet.
If I can, I hope to do another blogpost with something more creative ;-)

i would like to thank everyone who has visited my blog & commented & encouraged this month- what fun it’s been! i managed to finish 2 projects and am looking forward to starting something new-

I will join those who is thankful for all those who visited my blog this month. I have found everyone’s blogs to be so inspirational Thank you all!.

May I second what has been voiced by my fellow creative participants in saying that this has been so much fun and I too have enjoyed your visits to my blog as well as the comments. I’ve also spent a lot of time visiting your sites and it’s been a wonderful experience seeing your work. I hope we will all continue to meet at “Leah’s place” for some creative give and take!

This Natalie Goldberg quote today inspired a week long self portrait series about eighteen months ago, perhaps one of my most powerful and poignant. And Leah, your creation here has been an enormous blessing in my life. I don’t think any amount of praise I offer here is nearly enough.

ohhhhhh love that quote at the end – so true.

and i am in deep appreciation for aedm. i didn’t “officially” participate but actually i have made art every day this month. even better than that i found new ways to bring artmaking into more aspects of my life and found a deeper commitment to my daily art practice. this feels so good! you are such an inspiration.

I have thourghly enjoyed this space.. alot of endings and beginnings which makes me think this AEDM has been very powerful.

I cannot thank you enough Leah and everybody that came to my page. Thank you I completed and discovered new Art mediums and I am still making great friends with the Tarot.

As I love food a beautiful ending would be Food to see it or to make it …

I think a beautiful ending for me is to keep going… Last year when I participated in Art Everyday I was in a rut and actually in my minds eye wasn’t very successful at being creative. This year with Creative Everyday and Art Everyday I feel very inspired by encouragement that comes from Leah and all creative people who have participated. It is all such a great inspiration! Thanks everyone!

[...] really appreciated this quote by Natalie Goldberg posted on Leah Piken Kolidas’ Day 27 Check-in for Art Every Day Month “Sometimes when you think you are done, it is just the edge of beginning. Probably [...]

Leah, thank you for providing such a warm and supportive place to connect! I don’t want to stop and am looking forward to your Creative Every Day 2010! I feel like I’m just beginning and this has a great place to start.

As this month comes to an end I would also like to thank everyone and wish you continued happiness on your journeys.

Turns out today’s mandala is about honoring the jewels that we are. Love your inkblots, dearie

Today’s posting is another contour drawing…and why I keep on doing them. The lights were on this week, though!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I started a collage yesterday that I think is appropriate after eating waaaay too much *smiles*.

Have an art-filled weekend!!

My post today is about a bit of kitty whimsy! Just an idea I wanted to try out.
As November winds down, I send you my thanks, Leah, for this lovely experience of participating in AEDM>

And mine today is about LEAPING into the unknown in pink sneakers… It’s linked to anothe post with a better explanation and some art. But if you scroll aaaaaaallll the way down – you get my most recent work! Yay – it’s great to be back on board… Bisous

Dear Leah,
This evening started on another friend’s birthday card and I have another project to start over the weekend as I have entered Mother Henna’s Handmade Gift Exchange, so shall look forward to that.
I’ll share the Birthday card once finished, or at least on it’s way.
Also been looking up to do my own custom made crewel embroidery patterns and I think I will get more involved in that soon, especially in regards to clothing. :)
Regards xx
