Art Every Day Month Check-In: November 30th

November 30th, 2009

aedmlogored

Today is the 30th day of Art Every Day Month. Congratulations! Hip, hip hooray! You did it!! No matter how much or little you feel like you accomplished this month, please celebrate your success today. I think you are all amazing and it has been my pleasure to create along with all of you. How will you celebrate your AEDM journey today?

Feel free to continue to check-in with the weekly Creative Every Day Challenge posts (which go up every Monday, starting again next week.) through the month of December. And stay tuned for more info and a sign-up form for the 2010 Creative Every Day Challenge later this week. I would love to continue creating with you next year. And of course, please come back next November for another month of daily creating, community and Art Every Day Month fun. Happy creating, everyone!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the AEDM info page for all the details, then send me an email to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. (If that email link isn't working, you can email me at leah at bluetreeartgallery.com)

Instructions: Please see the Art Every Day Month Instructions post if you have any confusion about how to post your link or how to sign up.

Twitter: Are you participating in AEDM and you're on Twitter too? I'm on there as @leah_art and I've been using the hashtag #aedm to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. I also started a Twitter list for AEDM which can help you easily find Twitter folks who are participating. If you're not on the Twitter list yet and would like to be, send me a DM (Direct Message on Twitter.)

Your creativity is waiting for you like a dancing partner. -Barbara Sher

UPDATE: Hey all, Mr. Linky is having some techinical issues today, it keeps disappearing and reappearing and there's nothing I can do to fix it, but wait. So if you don't see it, leave your link in the comments. Thank you!!

For the last day (boohoo) – I made a Christmas tree out of an antique prune drying rack from the Dordogne region of France. On each of the slats – I hand wrote the words to the most famous French Christmas Carol “Petit Papa Noël.” Only telling you all this because my post is in French! Can’t put that one in my Etsy store as it is too fragile… Thanks for a wonderful month! Leah – you are nothing short of AMAZING!!

Celebration is a great way to end the AEDM challenge so I am going to post (again) one of my collages titled “confetti” since that’s what you should all be tossing into the air to celebrate yourselves and your creativity. And Leah for your leadership and encouragement…we celebrate you and thank you from the bottom of our artsy hearts!

spinning with two little girls. Im amazed how fast they picked up this new skill.

I can’t believe I made it through the whole month without skipping a day. Wow!

I am giving away some lovely gifts on my blog today to celebrate my 20,000 visitor. C’mon over and leave a comment for a chance to win.

Love ya, Leah!

xoxo

my celebration will consist of setting up a show this evening & being pleased that i have new work to put out there! fell off the wagon the past week or so, but this has been a fun exercise. thanks again to everyone who visited my blog & commented.

I will celebrate by finishing one of my pieces of writing. I have worked on five different pieces this month– this is so much more than I’ve done previously. It’s been an inspiring month.

Thank you, Leah. :)

what a joy it has been. thank you for helping me keep my creative focus. today i will celebrate in three ways…

1) giving a thank you gift to one of my blog visitors (see post)
2) prepare to launch my first creative e-course (that I’m over-the-moon excited about!)
3) stay home and enjoy playing, relaxing and BEING with my sweet baby boy.

thanks again, leah. it’s been wonderful. i look forward to creating with you in the future.

I may not have time to post today, but I wanted to say how much I have enjoyed this challenge. For one thing it has helped keep me focused on my work. For another I have been reaffirmed by comments left on my blog. But more than that I have been inspired by all the participants. I will miss visiting each and every one of your blogs each day.

I am very happy too!
I did it!!!
yay!

Leah: thank you for everything and please know that I can’t wait for next year to do it again ;-)
hugs!

AEDM may be over, but the journey for me is just beginning. Read about my trials and triumphs this month. Thanks again, Leah, for the inspiration and accountability, and to all of the AEDM community for your love and support.
This has been amazing for me.
xoxo

You are A MAZ ING. And so are WE.

Doing the Happy Dance! I did it too! Can’t believe I didn’t let myself get sidetracked or bored and quit! Sue is right, Leah, YOU are amazing and so are WE!

AEDM was everything I’d hoped it would be and I throughly enjoyed the process! Plus it just showed me that I can squeeze in a moment of intentional creativity every single day. Thanks for providing a supportive, colorful structure and community! — Virginia

Thank you Leah and everyone for a great AEDM. I had a lot of fun!

This has been an amazing month – such huge thanks to Leah and everyone involved in AEDM, what a supportive and uplifting group of people.

I did a final round up post on my blog and I’m doing a little giveaway of one of my paintings, so stop by and comment if you see something you like!

First of all…thank you Leah for creating this challenge. I am so glad to find out that even a few minutes of creating each day makes me a more sane person. Next…thank you to all of the participants. Your postings have provided so much inspiration to me. I have so enjoyed seeing your work.
Lastly…I am celebrating by decorating the house for Christmas. Usually I do it over the Thanksgiving weekend, but since we were gone the whole time it will happen today. I love the festive look of the house when it is all decked out.
Happy creating to all of you.

This is the latest I have posted here. I am grieving and the day has barely begun here on the West Coast.
For my final “Hand Art November 2009″ I created something risky which I didn’t feel comfortable posting publicly. If people want to see it, I created a private page… so simply let me know. Love and Admiration to each and all of you!

Playing catch up on posting still. Here is Day#25. I cannot believe it is over already!

Time for Celebrating! Congratulations to one and all.
Thank you everyone. It has been a wonderful month.

Thank you very much, Leah for this Art Every Day Challenge.
I enjoyed it very much, although it was sometimes hard to hold on every day( and I only began on November 17th), but it was worth the effort.
I re-discovered how nice it is to doodle away some negative feelings and to explore ideas for new quilts.

[...] been! I took a few days off for Thanksgiving. But, I simply couldn’t miss the last day of the Art Every Day Month Challenge hosted by the luminous Leah Piken [...]

Thank you so much, Leah! I am such a fan of AEDM.

I’ve been away for a few days getting ready for my family coming from out of town for Thanksgiving so my art was cooking and entertaining. I’m happy to celebrate my participation and allowing my budding inner artist some time to play! Woo Hoo. My deep appreciation goes to Leah for creating and facilitaing this marvelous virtual circle of creative souls and giving us an opportunity to meet new “friends!”

Thank you Leah and everyone, you are all wonderful!

Thank you Leah for a great month.

I know I did something everyday but didn’t finish something everyday and post. Regardless what a great month! Thanks for doing this!

Thanks Leah and the AEDM 2009 community! This month has really been a great adventure of pure fun and joy. I created a video with a collage and poem about AEDM (included in my new book That Which Awakens Me). Click here: http://tiny.cc/L6F4V. Enjoy! Many blessings everyone. Happy Holidays and New Year too.

Thanks Leah and AEDM 2009 community. This has been a great adventure of pure fun and joy. I created a video with a collage and poem. The poem is featured in my new book That Which Awakens Me. Click here to see the video: http://tiny.cc/L6F4V. Enjoy!

30 different holiday cards nearly done. Whew! What a month–a month of doing instead of just thinking, creating instead of just being inspired. So grateful to you for creating this place for us to reach, grow, and challenge ourselves to Create Art Everyday.
Thank you, Leah, you are amazing!
Looking forward to AED 2010!

This has been such a great month full of encouragement and inspiration! Thank you Leah for creating this opportunity!

Hi there! Looks like Mr. Linky is being difficult still. Many thanks to you, Leah! I really enjoyed participating in AEDM. I did a last little post on my blog. http://www.intner.net/blog/

I have had a rough month, but finding this last weekend added a bright spot to each day. Thanks, Leah. I am hoping next year to do something every day in November. http://adesiretogetcreative.blogspot.com/2009/12/aedm-november-30-scrabble.html

Despite the fact that I have no idea what was the optional theme for the month of November, I was creative almost every day. What I posted in the widget above was a writing project I wanted to experiment on, which is a renga, another Japanese-style poem. I wish I had more time on it though to finish, but alas! things kept getting in the way. Nevertheless, I am happy with the way it turned out, so that counts.

Besides writing this renga, I’ve decorated my 2010 planner as I can’t live my life without it! I’m going to look for favorite quotes and continue to decorate and personalize it. I love being organized. I also look forward to the new year! I’ve also created a personalized birthday card for my mother. I need to post photos to that soon.

All in all, this month was a burst of creativity for me despite being busy for the end of semester’s assignments, projects, and exams!

Thanks Leah,

I wasn’t able to do art every single day but I had fun. Thank you for your commitment to encouraging us all to be creative every day!

Leah,

Thank you for your inspiration! You helped to push me to get things done and I’ve really gotten into the habit of making art and craft into an everything thing. Hopefully, it will stay that way. :)

Well, Day #27 is up…getting close to all posted. I am going to try and get the others 2 up tomorrow and then I will just have the recap left and #30’s art. Whew! Still going.
