I’m stillworking on figuring out a crocheted lace edging for pillowcases, but I’m enjoying a different aspect of this challenge…being more aware of what I do daily that is part of creativity; planning, meeting with arty peeps, etc.

I just started this yesterday and already I’m thinking man, this is impossible! But it did impell me to move along on something I’ve been working on (conceptually at least, and the background was painted). I can’t say I’m completely happy with it yet, but it’s a post anyhow. This will force me to think creatively in the midst of everything else like visits to kids and grandkids, holidays, etc.

It’s incredible to see how many people participate in this. What a great idea and how nice to feel part of a community. Sometimes we feel a little isolated here in Bakersfield, CA, even though we do have a thriving arts community.

Can I just tell you how wonderful it is to be able to draw for the sake of drawing? And to draw what I draw in the way I draw it among people who rejoice in the act of creating rather than judging the work?

All about the process, baby! The product’s fab, but getting there is the real joy for me, and I’m sure for most of you out there too.

Link to blog about Day #3 and #4. I am having a good time with this. It is both demanding, inspiring and creative all at once. I think it is going to be a good thing. I have met some great fellow artists so far online and I enjoy the supportive community.

Leah, I forget how important it is to be surrounded by other people who are excited about making. Thanks for creating a community that I’m excited to be in. My husband, Tom, notices I’m getting blog love. That’s exciting too, and definitely a bonus I wasn’t expecting.
