Art Every Day Month: November 2nd

November 2nd, 2009

aedmlogored

Today is the 2nd day of Art Every Day Month and we're off to such a fabulous start! I've already been so incredibly inspired by everyone participating.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the AEDM info page for all the details, then comment on my blog or send me an email to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations.

Selecting a challenge and meeting it creates a sense of self-empowerment that becomes the ground for further successful challenges. ~Julia Cameron

UPDATE: I changed the Art Every Day Month participant list to a drop-down list because it was getting very long (we've got over 190 people joining in this year! Woohoo!)

It's still in the same place, right under the CED participants, but in a drop-down format. If you signed up and don't see your link there, pop me an email and let me know.

Occasionally I put links in the wrong spot by accident and sometimes the techno gremlins eat them. :-)

Twitter Update: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. Feel free to do the same! You can then easily find others who are tweeting about it too!

Instructions: Please see the Art Every Day Month Instructions post if you have any confusion about how to post your link or how to sign up.

thanks for hosting this! i am looking forward to challening myself to be more mindful about creating this month-

so far so good. good luck everyone. I hope we all have an amazing month!

Thanks for bringing on the challenge!

Sorry – I posted my link here when I meant to post in the November 1st entry. I will post again here tomorrow after I have done some creative things. My apologies. It wasn’t the 2nd when I was creating my blog entry and posting, but Leah – you were early! LOL.

Well, I too must say Sorry—I took up two numbers because I typed my link in wrong…. I told you I wasn’t very good on the computer! Maybe by the time the month is over, I will get it right…..

But still, this will be great fun!

Thanks!

This was for the first, but I took to long post. I will post again for the 2nd later today. Before the 3rd, I swear.

Good luck everyone

Chelle

Hi Leah – I’m going to put your button on my site and try and link to you every couple of days when I finally finish each little project I’m working on! A bit unsure if I should add myself into your Mr Linky every day though or if I only have to do it once… I’m a definite IT dummy you know. I REALLY admire your projects! Congratulations on being such a proactive artist. Hope i can meet you in person one day – You are welcome to Toulouse when ever you want. Hugs, Ange

you are a lovely hostess, thank you for the encouragment, I look forward to sharing when I can. I will be creating 3 x 3 collage pieces each day…posting each evening.

Well, I’ve been creative two days in a row now. I am on a roll!!!

Good morning, Leah (and all)

xoxo

It’s fun posting! Thanks for hosting and sharing with all of us! And, making it so easy.

I wasn’t able to tackle my art until late last night, so I’ll be posting, but it may not be on the same day I did it! I hope to have some free time to look at all the creations. :)

I am inspired. I linked today to my blog in general, not reading the rules carefully enough. Now I understand that you fill in that form each day that you create something new, I’ll get it right next time.

I was being too fussy with my art but I feel like part of a growing community.. and some old faces too from blog world.

Marilyn

I am very excited to be part of the community and see everything that is being created.

I’m so excited to be participating this year! SO many great creative people. I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with everyone.

Hi Leah, I also managed to take up two spaces-and it still won’t link to my blog…I entered
http://alittlebluesky.blogspot.com and then/ a new adventure/november 2 so it would just go to the art challenge post..any instructions???
thanks, Lynn

Hi Lynn, You had a typo in your link (blueskies instead of bluesky) for your blog and the end of the link is different.

The way to get your individual post link is to go to your blog, click on the title of the post you want to share. When the page with just that post comes up, copy the url there, and paste it in the Mr. Linky url box. (On my mac, I use ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste)

The url I used as an example in my instructions post is just what my blog’s url looks like for an individual post. Yours may look different. I just checked and your link for that post is: http://alittlebluesky.blogspot.com/2009/11/new-adventure.html

I’m sure you’re not the only one with that question though, so thanks for asking!! I deleted the old link for you. Hope that helps!!

Woo hoo! I’ve been working today and yesterday. This is great.

I’m really appreciating this focused time to play with ART! Wish I could figure out a way to post your badge or is it called widget to my blog!

Yay! Thanks for hosting this, Leah. I’ve been watching for two years and couldn’t wait another year to give it a try.

This came at the perfect time for me! I just “redefined” myself as an artist…from quilt artist to fiber/mixed media artist. (Although my husband wonders why I can’t just call myself an artist.) So for the month of November I am playing with paints and inks and stamps and stencils in art journals. I call it my “permission to play” month.

Hooray! I finished my eight pane because I had the extra incentive of getting something posted for AEDM. I am loving looking at all the other posts. So much creativity. So little time to respond to each one.

Dear Leah,
This is so fun, and I think it really connects with who I am in each experience. I always find beauty and art interlaced in everyday experience and so I am happy to share and voice them with others, through this most encouraging way of engaging ourselfs in something expressive everyday. Brings us out more I think. Have just posted up my second day post! :) Also it is a good initiative to get me blogging everyday I notice.
Kind Wishes

I am having so much fun with this already! It’s given me an excuse to buy crayons, pens, pencils and paints!! Plus, it is wonderful wandering around blogs and the Flickr group, looking at what everyone is producing.

I’ve never been very good at doing sticking with something like this but here goes nothing.

Have fun everyone and Happy belated Halloween!

This time I posted the correct link to my post for this second day of the challenge! I felt so good today, creating and posting about it! It gave me direction and focus today and I love how that feels. Later on, I am looking forward to checking out some of the other wonderfully creative people participating in this challenge. There are so many of us!! WoooHooo! I am having fun, are you? :)

THis is so fun! SO nice to see all the creativeness!

I am so happy to be joining in on Art Every Day Month! After almost an entire year of dry spell, I just got crafting again yesterday. And it wasn’t even to join in on AEDM, for I had forgotten all about it until I saw it again today. So I feel like I’m starting out on very good footing. Wishing all the participants a wonderful month of amazing creativity!

Hi Leah! Thanks for putting on the challenge this month! I’m looking forward to participating. I put up my first experiment on my blog: embroidery! It’s not a finished product, but seriously just an experiment. I’m excited about trying some new things this month, and I appreciate the prompt to propel the experimentation! I’m also trying to figure out how to get your button up on my sidebar, but I’m having trouble. :( I’ll figure something out!

Thanks for reminding us how important it is to be creative every day!

Okay

Day Two finished.
Tomorrow is time to get dirty.

yay…hope everyone is doing well

Finished a collage I started ages ago. The meaning became apparent as I assembled it, although I had no idea as I was choosing images. It’s a great way to get started and find some guidance from that inner source energy. I think that this challenge is increasing that energy as we all get going together. Yay!

Day Two posted. I am posting each AEDM creation a day after to keep sane.

Great Idea! I’m starting my first piece as I type.

I started with two mandalas I’d drawn recently and on days one and two, painted COLOR fountain pen ink! http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/inked-mandala-part-2.html.

Leah, thank you so much for this. So much inspiration. I have this sense that I can actually feel all these people creating things. unspoken support. very wonderful!!

I am enjoying this challenge even though I am not able to work on it every day. The inspiration is wonderful and helps to keep me on track. Thanks.
