Art Every Day Month: November 4th

November 4th, 2009

aedmlogored

Today is the 4th day of Art Every Day Month. I realized yesterday that I was totally tuckered out and needed to take some time to rest. Remember to take good care of yourself during this process! It'll help sustain you through the month!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links in the sidebar for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post (or specific image if you're linking to a flickr page or other website) instead of your main blog page or website. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

If you're new to Art Every Day Month, check out the AEDM info page for all the details, then send me an email to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. (If that email link isn't working, you can email me at leah at bluetreeartgallery.com)

Instructions: Please see the Art Every Day Month Instructions post if you have any confusion about how to post your link or how to sign up.

There are many accidents that are nothing but accidents - and forget it. But there are some that were brought about only because you are the person you are... you have the wherewithal, intelligence, and energy to recognize it and do something with it. ~Helen Frankenthaler

Twitter Update: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. And yesterday, I started a Twitter list for AEDM which can help you easily find Twitter folks who are participating. And if you're not on the Twitter list yet and would like to be, send me a DM.

Great work, Leah. Even your “bad stuff” is pretty darn good. :)
I have several pieces of non-fiction writing that I’m working on, and about ten different songs that are in various stages of development.
My challenge this month–and every month–is getting past not knowing how the work will come to fruition. By that I mean that I want to finish these songs but have no idea how I will get them recorded and out into the world. This thought tends to stop me from finishing them. I feel like it won’t make a difference if I work on them because they might never be heard.
Is anyone else struggling with this, and if so, how do you get around it?

Hi Leah,
Thanks so much for this opportunity to create and a join a community of other people creating. It’s really helpful for me. It’s interesting to watch myself and see what comes up. I have my own set of “rules” and hope to loosen up and take more risks by the end of the month!

Today’s post is about the curve balls life throws us and what we do with them. It’s about the path I didn’t know I was going to take with my art and my blog. I think as artists, we can all relate to the unexpected. I would love to hear thoughts on this topic.

For some reason, yesterday’s post was linked to today’s entry. Please ignore the last post and go to today’s for the link to the topic I wrote about above. Confusing? You bet. The theme of my life!

I just wanted to say that looking at everyone work is keeping me inspired. Thank you all!

This gets more fun each day!

Balancing perfection with the process .. this will be a great journey into bliss-management and keeping things simple to simply fly! Thanks for the mythic all to create in harmony!

Hi Leah, I can imagine you using lots of energy! This is fun, but does take some mind power. My eyes get computer tired and I don’t think I’m on it as much as you might be!

You deserve a good rest. You run a great challenge and create awesome work.

[...] is also Day Four of the Art Every Day Month challenge. In the spirit of flowing with ease, I decided to create some ink and watercolor [...]

I had such a busy day yesterday I never got to post. I almost didn’t do any art either, but I remembered that I made a commitment, so I did spend a half hour in my studio creating the beginnings of an art journal page. Yay! My post today shows the results of both days.

It is not always easy to create every day, but it is always rewarding to know I did, even if I am not happy with the results. At least I did it. I am learning that is what is important!

Just posted mine and its the next day already…

Back at it again tonight with a couple more stitches learned. Yay! I’m so loving this! And I just want to say how grateful I am for the AEDM challenge, because it’s giving me a good reason to be self-indulgent, sitting on my couch stitching every night. Thanks Leah!

Getting back in the habit of making time for drawing every night. Very relaxing. It’ll be nice to get out on the weekend and do some stuff outside my home as well!

Day 4 done and uploaded. Yay!

Thank you so much for helping me stay motivated. I’m so glad I have a place to share and meet others.
