Itty Bitty Kitty Art: White Cat
November 8th, 2009
I've been thinking of doing a series of "itty bitty kitty art" for so long, so I'm glad that Art Every Day Month has prompted me to give it a go! I've done small cat art before, but I'd like to do a whole bunch of them. Plus, I like saying "itty bitty kitty." Hehe.
This little white cat is acrylic and ink on a 4"x4" cradled board. Oh so cute. I needed something light today after the busy weekend of having house guests over night and hosting a baby shower. Phew! It's been busy. But I'm so glad I carved out this art time. It's amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it, isn't it?
And now to kick up my feet and relax a bit. I'm a tad behind on emails, but will return to them tomorrow.

Sweet itty bitty kitty (I love saying it, too!), with the perfect little kitty-doesn’t-need-your-pathetic-human-love expression on her itty bitty face. My Leo Chapo often wears this expression

Well, as you must know by now I have two white cats and I love every square inch of them. I like that you did this on a 4 x 4 area. I have to consider doing something like this when I am pushed for time. Art can be small!

Such a sweet kitty Leah! I love the simplicity. I really appreciate your comment about carving out art time. It’s amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it, isn’t it?
I love Wendy Richmond’s writing. In her book “Art Without Compromise”, she states: “When I say do not compromise about your art, I’m not referring to your final product. Instead, I am saying do not compromise about what you need along the way. Not compromising means finding, committing to, and protecting your own unique requirements for making your strongest and most relevant art.” To me that also means prioritizing the time to make art. The intro is here: http://wendyrichmond.com/writing_ArtWithout.html and I believe worth reading.

White Cat has the same look on her face that my cat does when she thinks you might be thinking of stuffing her in the cat carrier for a trip to the vet……….
p.s. you are too busy! rest up!

Love it. Such a cute little kitty. Maybe I should look at something small like this, just to get into the every day thing. Lately, even flying girls are too much for my day.

Wow, what a joy to see! I love your creation, it is so beautiful and so you. It is amazing yes when we put our mind to something. You know I’ve not had the pleasure of using acrylics yet, and I have been drawn on many counts. One day, one day. heehe.

This is so sweet. I’m impressed with all that you are doing this month and to think that you have guests too! I’m amazed at how organized I am these days. I think AEDM has inspired me to be creative yet to pace myself. I’m trying to keep in balance! Oh look at the time, it is time to go get some more rest. I’m loving the colors of this piece and the sweet simplicity of the form.
