Creative Every Day Challenge Check-In: December 14-20

December 14th, 2009

Ced2009Welcome, Creative Every Day Challenge participants!

This weekly post is a place for CED participants to share their creative activities.

Ways to share: Leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a post (or posts) about your creative activities during the days of 12/14/09 - 12/20/09.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.)

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to.

Join in the Challenge: To find out more about the Creative Every Day Challenge check out the details here. The 2010 Creative Every Day Challenge is starting up soon! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for December is recycle. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month. You can find out more about how you can use the inspiration theme here.

Happy Creating!

Hi, this time not something I made myself, but a very fun tip for recycling your giftwrapping.

Hi Leah! I left link to my blog in general — not specific perma-link — coz my latest creative efforts have been in creating a new banner, buttons, etc. All is a pre-cursor to launch of revised motherhenna.com website which is almost done. It’s been such an interesting process to review, recycle, reclaim, and then choose what’s next for my heART work!

As always, thanks much for encouraging all of us to live creatively!

Hi Leah,
I’ve been very busy what with the holiday preps and the new puppy but I wanted to tell you that I just finished writing a wonderful & silly poem that I am going to (by hook or by crook) turn into a “published” children’s book. I’m very excited and have a very good feeling about this project!!

i just posted a whole bunch of photos of my knitting onto my blog. i love knitting!

Wow Leah,
You just instroduced us to a fantastic group of artists ( you included :D , with Carmen Torbus’ blog. Can’t wait for the book, remember when I started your CED challenge? I asked about finding my style? This book you are all working on sounds fabulous.
Thank you !

I left a link to (my flickr stream) a photo that I worked with over the weekend, of an old mill in Kansas. I’ve been interested in getting better at photoshop and working with my images. I have found some great resources online for help for that, some of them blogs. I’m learning a lot. Hope everyone has a great week!

hi, I’m technically following the ‘recycle’ rule for December – my latest blogpost is a cartoon I drew and used on my Family website a few years back, so in a way it is being recycled :) It is an appropriate cartoon for me today!

My art is an upcycled kind of art pretty much all the time so what a perfect theme.
I made a video of the journals I started back in October for this fall and winter.
Thank YOU Leah!

This week I’m just trying to catch up and do a bit of reflecting on 2009 this week :) It was a great year, a challenging year, and full of experiences that I am blessed for. I feel that I’m in a creative winds of change though and just need to figure out what where that wind is going to take me. I do have an article coming up in CPS in January, so I’m excited about that :)

Dear Leah,
It is so wonderful to be back, and be involved in another Creative Every day again.
I am grateful for finding you, and your blog!
The month of December has bought me to be in connection with Paper Mashe activities again! YEEEEY!!
I have started wrapping round paper several objects and making them my moulds for things.
I had an idea this week of making a recyclable box for a Christmas present, and yesterday my tea cardboard box ran out of tea bags. Today I used it to cover paper mashe over it, so than later I can paint over it in pretty designs and use old ribbons to make it a beautiful box!!
I have just uploaded it onto the flickr group, alongside the other paper mashe objects. :)
Hope your well, and Happy Holidays.

Hi Leah, and everyone,
I was very busy this month and just now I had the time to post on my blog. My subject includes recycling too, but it is much more: icon painting on eggshell texture. So the eggshells are recycled and the icons are hand painted.
Happy Holidays!

Now that I am off work from “the day job” for a couple of weeks, I can finally settle in at home and do more creating without interruptions of work outside the home 10 hours a day!

I’ve been wanting to create the 12 Tags of Christmas that Tim Holtz just finished December 12th, so I’ve started my rendition of his tags. If you get a chance, stop by! Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!

I recently purchased a new camera, a Canon 7D-and I love, love it. But the pop up flash would not function so I had to take it back and I’ve been without it (but not without a camera, thankfully) for over two weeks. I got it back the other day just before a trip to Silver Dollar City to see the holiday lights…I’m so excited! This is a link to the first of those images that I’m uploading to Flickr.
