Creative Every Day Check-In: February 22 – 28

February 22nd, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 2/22/10 - 2/28/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for February is Home. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with it here.

Happy Creating!

Good morning creative goddesses. The sun is shining and the days are getting longer and that means more time to create. Soon the sun will warm us and all the ideas that were “frozen” all winter will come spilling out…

home this week- with time to create! yay!

Leah, I have really enjoyed exploring what home means to me and how my creativity is influenced and expressed in relation to “home.”

My partner and I have dedicated the month of February to cleaning and clearing of home with some satisfying results. We won’t be completely “done,” if there is such a thing, by the end of the month but we will be much further along.

I have a cleared art table to begin some painting this week – after I phone the accountant and tell them that my books are ready (that was Sunday’s task:).

I have had such a blissed out, home-centric morning – perhaps because, in part, I knew I would be checking in here. I love it when that happens!

Hey Leah

I have finally allowed myself time to really think about this ‘home’ topic and this is what floated into my mind.
A memory about what a home meant to me as a little girl.

PS Thanks for featuring me last week!!!!

Home has really come forward into the light about how our time is spent here and what we do. I think of what I do when the weather is great and can be outside-Feb in VT is cold right now, so we play for a bit or go for walks when the temps are up-but never really place too much emphasis on what we do “inside.” I realize I do so much more than I credit myself for, and that inside the home is not all about cleaning. It’s like hibernating at times, and that’s when creativity flourishes.

Leah, I love what you do and I love how you share this with us. I love how we can share what we do with you. This has been a great experience and I’m looking forward to March, even though I would love another week of Feb-at least the creative part, not the cold!

I see next month is stories, this is so strange because I told a little story today about home and body.

I have been needing some meditative time lately, it seems, or “Zen” time. I have been working on more zentangles, and these are actually zentangle mandalas – done in a circle format. I am doing these for a swap, and we are calling them Zendalas. I love how I feel relaxed and totally in focus at the same time when I work on them.

Hello everyone,
I just found this place and I’m so excited to join in, my post jumps ahead to March a bit, but hey, it will be monday again before we know it :)

I’ve been MIA while on vacation and am having difficulty reconnecting with my muse since my return.

I am hoping that looking at the awesome art of the sharers here at CED will spark my creativity soon.

xoxo

I think my favorite “home” projects for this month included gardening and beautifying my front porch with my daughter and my fairy house “sighting”! Totally fun! Thank you…..next month’s theme is a challenge, indeed…..but a good one – for sure!

I have gotten off to a slow and somewhat challenging start this week. But I looked at this months theme and decided I just have to write a better story for this week. Maybe one that says even though things have not gone smoothly that I have been creative in handling the obstacles thrown my way. One that makes me a hero for creating my daily postcard in spite of the the roadblocks that fall in my way. While I don’t usually create to the theme I think I may be inspried to give it a try this month. It will give me new inspiration for my daily cards. Thanks!
