Creative Every Day Check-In: March 29th – April 4th

March 29th, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 3/29/10 - 4/4/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for March is Stories. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with it here. April's theme is: The 5 Senses, which you can read more about here.

Happy Creating!

A month of exploring stories on my blog – very inspiring theme!

I have loved stories and I adore the 5 senses. Leah, you rock!

Another good week of creativity. I look forward to the April theme – looks interesting!

still working on big rainbow quail but he’s almost done…am anxious to begin some smaller works using my synesthetic ways, my fused senses, it might be interesting for the months’ 5senses…we’ll see :)
xoxoxo

Great theme – love the quote!

can’t believe March is almost over! It was so busy. April promises exciting things around here. Big “doings” coming up at the end of April….

Feels just like a Monday to me.

Leah,
I am just loving the Creative Every Day Challenge! I can hardly believe three months have gone by ~ what a gift this has been for me! Thanks for the encouragement and inspiration.

Usually I put a permalink in the Mr. Linky with my name…but this week…the Creativity has really been reigning every day that I just put the link to my blog! Hope that’s ok.

Big hugs!!

PS I too can’t believe March is almost over!

I think I am just going to begin the week on April’s Theme. It will be a four day week for me and I am ready for the shift. I am painting, writing and taking photographs in preparation for a solo Show in September on the theme of “Sea, Land and Time” The discipline of “five senses’ seems like a great focus for the month.

this is great, Leah! I think this will add colorful content to my blog page set up just for my inspiration. Yeah! This month has been a bit different from Feb but March was a good one, too. With change of season around here, immume systems out of wack, we’re getting back on our feet once again. I love the senses and what they offer us in each moment.

Dear Leah,
It has been a long while since I have been in the blogsphere and back!
How are you? And what have you been up to?
I have been away for a whole month, and before that half of January so I haven’t really been involved in Creative Every Day 2010 for the major part.
I would love to join in for the last month of “Stories” and include myself in this one, before I participate full heartedly into April.
It’s nice to be back on your blog again. :)

I’ve started my week inspired by the quote:
“Art is not a thing; it is a way.” Elbert Hubbard

I’ve enjoyed the theme of stories which has turned out to be especially relevant to my life this past month.

Looking forward to getting stuck in to exploring the theme ‘The 5 Senses’

Wishing you all a creative & joy filled week!

Kat

I’ve been having a lot of fun just sitting down and letting things come recently. I’ve made another lunch bag, and gave the first away to a dear friend!

I’m also feeling a lot less in the dumps. The project that I was hating is finally OVER, and the weather is SO improved! Also, watching Emma– from the BBC– certainly isn’t hurting.

I also looked through the NY Public Library’s digital archives for a good while today… It’s got my creative juices flowing!

Leah – Having so much fun trying new things like the cartoon illustration class. Just want to thank you and Creative Every Day for getting me to spread my creative wings and fly <3

Haven’t had time to comment in a long while, between buying a house, getting ready to move, and going out of town in the middle of it all – but I sure look forward to hearing and seeing what people have to share about the senses. All you Creative Every Day folks out there, I can’t wait to get back in the loop.

Spent the last week or so getting ready for an Art Show….but made some time to make these cute wearable flowers out of coffee filters and paperback pages!

I’ve been more private this month, having a lot of internal struggles. I cannot believe how many reflection stories I’ve written, and it is amazing (even if bittersweet) to see how I have been doing this month. As I am observing the season of Lent, I am finding that my own stories link with those around me. Sometimes the sad truth is that sometimes the decisions you make, your actions affect those whom you love and care about. It has been an eye-opening experience. If there is anything that I have learned from this, mistakes are part of the human experience–that we share in these stories of human nature, our own fragility.

Yay! I remembered to post just in time, I’ve been working on stories all month but I’ve become so obsessed that I’ve completely forgotten to show them to anyone!

yay! the senses theme feels like an effortless and exciting one to me!
due to health issues, my life is kind of ruled by my senses but for some reason this theme does feel joyful – not oppressive.

I picked a page at random out of a mythology book to use for an ‘altered page’ and there was reference to sight being restored! perfect sense to begin with :-)

I haven’t posted it on my blog yet but do have a wacky bday card and an ‘inspiration cloud’ posted.

thanks again for the inspiration Leah!
☺☺☺

I haven’t been very good at linking to the theme. Oh well. I’ll take what I can get. My creativity is coming back.

Well, it’s not about the theme of “Stories” but I finally blogged again and I have been busy creating, so I thought I would share. :)

I never check in in March – I think. My blog about creativity in 2010 has been leglected as life was just busy. Hope to get more involved here this month.
I just updated my blog with a link to the International Fake Journal Month.
Have a creative day everybody.

I’ve already posted once for this week, but I have a new project up on the blog and in the works! I need a bit of feedback, and I thought this might be the best place to get it!

Thanks guys!

Spent the morning out with my camera taking photos in the woods with a couple of feline traveling companions. And I think I overextended my sense of touch today cleaning out my garden beds. I love uncovering them in the spring. A blank canvas. A new page.

Thank you Leah for the inspiration! I’m finding CED to be a great encouragement as I try to grow creatively during these difficult days of young motherhood.

Just in time to wish you a happy Easter, my posts this month deal with recycled, reused, and eco-friendly art. Although I post every day, I chose the one on making Easter greener, because I hoped it would open the eyes of more people than I can do on my own. Thank you for CED and such lovely themes.
