Creative Every Day Check-In: May 3 – 9

May 3rd, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 5/3/10 - 5/9/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for April's theme is Intuition. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with it here.

Happy Creating!

I love this theme of intuition. I am looking so forward to seeing what is uncovered and discovered along with everyone else!

The theme of intuition complements last month’s theme perfectly! I wrote about my latest intuitive leap and the results on my blog.

Good Morning, Leah!
I wrote this passed week, of which so far, I’ve had feedback from one article; this made me feel good. Freelance writing again after a time of being away feels like trying to ride a bike or horse again; hesitant at first because of the new model you’re climbing onto but once you’re on, its like you never stopped riding. Focusing on soap making and writing about that this week, and hoping to use intuitive guidance to do so. Will be posting about several projects this week, from sweater making with modification of patterns, to projects I do with my son for learning, to the soap making process that is new to me but as old as some of the towns here in Vermont. Looking forward to a very productive week. I will send a link for the posting of the soap, and maybe even the sweater-that was a creative challege but worth it.

My intuition tells me that this is going to be an exciting week for me creatively with a few things that are simmering on the FRONT burners!! =)

i am in a super-duper-fantastic burst of creativity and inspiration! working on so many sweet projects right now. and i’ve got a creative brainstorm sessions happening on my blog which is awesome – we can inspire and support each other right into our dreams come true!

the way i work collage has a lot of intuitive moments. i often find myself including elements (usually numbers or annimals), then looking up the symbolism only to find that it’s pertinent to things that are happening in my life, or that i’ve been thinking about. fun stuff!

Hi everyone! Leah, I saw your guest post on creating sanctuary that featured your studio. The blue you chose is more turquoise that I’d thought by the samples. Love it! It’s what we were planning on having in our living room.

This week I did another mini painting and helped my spouse guy with a music video.

Cities, architecture + buildings are inspiring me, another cityscape doodle: http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/route-53a.html

Things have been more than hectic, but I finally finished a project that I have been playing with in my mind for a while. It’s really a beautiful necklace, and I’ve worn it everyday since I finished it! I guess my intuition was right!!

Dear Leah,
It is wonderful to be in this new theme and month.
I look forward to connecting with others, and seeing what intuition brings to each.
Already I continue to unveil.
A very happy week to you.

First, my intuition has led me to a summer schedule for my blog (Tuesday and Thursday) but I haven’t yet adjusted… still feels odd to start the day without thinking about what to post.

Second, my intuition allowed me to capture a free-hand photo which I called “joyful delight” where the child’s eyes tell the story. We were eating slices of limes just for the fun of it http://www.redbubble.com/mybubble/art/5117319-1-joyful-delight

I have no idea where the month will take me but I am prepared for the ride! Thank you Leah:)

Hi Leah!

Love your blog! Thank-you for hosting this great idea!

I will post weekly….including the intuition theme for this month!

Thank-you again!

love, kelee

Looking forward to connecting and seeing all the beauty creations that you all create and share.

I try to be creative with my writing, and I suppose I am doing pretty good :)
Surprisingly however, I have come to realize that for me, creativity is not a problem, sticking to continuous writing is! Procrastination is so not cool! :D
And I try to beat it by initiating to work on a task, starting is the difficult part; creativity flows on its own.

A new week and a new opportunity to create. I hope to spend more time working on some of my projects this week. Intuition is a wonderful theme. I too feel that it is integral to the collages that I create. I work by process and let my intuition guide me on what to do next and when I need to leave something to “gel” for awhile. Happy creating everyone…

Very much looking forward to seeing how everyone follows their intuition – creatively speaking.

Tying up loose ends on a bunch of paintings. Putting the final coats of sealant on.

Hi, I just found your website and like what I see. I look forward to participating. Intuition is an excellent theme to increase creativity!

Hey everyone!! I’m posting again! I just tweaked the look my website a little, and I’d like a little feedback. There’s a simple poll on the right of the page. Intuition is good but I thrive on a little constructive criticism– especially when I have doubts.

On a creative roll these days — must be something in the air :) Am working with dominoes this week and having lots of fun! Will post pix of those soon and hope Mom doesn’t get a sneak peek at her Mother’s Day gift!)

My intuition is telling me that I need a break from my day job of nursing. But how do I make that happen? I feel terribly stuck right now. The only two things I’ve ever done consistently are singing and nursing.
My writing seems dead, not lively at all. I keep doing it, but wonder why it’s not more inspiring.

Anybody have any suggestions?

This month I am taking the “Every Day in May” challenge of the “Everyday matter” group. Monday through Friday it will be sketches of roses from my office garden and on weekends “other” sketches. This is the first time I participate at a challenge like that. I enjoy it so much.

I hope I can concentrate on this months theme a little better than last months. My mind tends to do a little more wandering when the weather is nice.I use my intuition alot without even knowing it,I will try to be more aware of this.

I’m looking forward to really exploring this theme – after I get home from my wonderful, if frenetic, visit to Colorado to see my daughter, son-in-law and three grandkids.

Hey guys! I love hearing about what you’re all up to!

Hudson, sometimes when I’m feeling really stuck with my creativity, I take a class to stir things up and get myself thinking in a new way. Perhaps you could find a writing group or class to get a little spark back?

I love this months theme. I’m looking forward to exploring my intuitive side, and checking out how other people play with this theme.

Currently on my mind, about your creative piece: Don’t be fearful of showing your work to the world. Let it shine. Let it acknowledge sparkles from the seer’s eye. Everyone has a right to beauty; beauty which you have created. Go play!

With tomorrow being Mother’s Day, had to write something about mothers. Does it fit the theme of intuition? Although I didn’t state it, of course it does. Most mothers depend on intuition – isn’t that the “eyes in the back of your head?” Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.

When I’m feeling blah with something, I switch to a new form of creativity. So if my writing is flat, I switch to painting.

This week, I made my first stop-motion video of a mandala in process! http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/sunshine-mandala-stop-motion.html using iMovie.

I’m so glad to see summer just around the corner. Leaves are growing and flowers are blossoming. I decided to create a “summer” painting a few days ago. The main themes are light and shadows, which creates a beautiful contrast.
