Creative Every Day: May 10 – 16

May 10th, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 5/10/10 - 5/16/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for April's theme is Intuition. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with it here.

Happy Creating!

The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself. ~Alan Alda

Doing a bit of painting. Also time to plan plantings & busy flowers.

My entire week was a creative flow following intuitive hit after intuitive hit. Incredible.

With the theme this month, I’ve been noticing how much I have already been using my intuition, even for my daily blog posts! Amazing. And I’ve been truly, truly enjoying the creative community here, visiting blogs and seeing so much creativity and so many insights. But now I’ve got a bad cold so I’m crawling back into bed, and letting my body rest.

I’ve been painting some background sheets, playing around with hand-lettering, and drawing houses. Thanks so much for this space to share! I’ve so enjoyed hopping around to everyone’s blogs and have been greatly inspired. Have a wonderfully creative week everyone. B.

Hope you feel better Kat! Monday morning and a new week stretches ahead. I managed to work creatively last week, but I am feeling a little lost, like I’m spinning my wheels. Wrote and explored my feelings about it and I’m ready to give it another go this week. I think I’m ready to break through to a new place.

This week I finally have a few free days and I’m looking forward to getting into the studio and “going with the flow”!

Hi Leah!

I have posted for intuition this week. Thank-you for hosting this
important idea!

love, kelee

oh yum yum yum. i am creating sundresses and paintings and paper dolls.

and working lots with intuition – getting ready for a creativity workshop i am giving in 3 weeks which will be on intuition/creativity/intention.

delicious stuff is cooking!

trying new things. making messes. failing some. getting back up, seeing what comes next.

Leah the Creative Everyday focus on intuition has given me a gift of flow I have been missing for awhile. With only posting Tuesday and Thursday on Creative Potager I have more time to explore the work of others… to poke around reading just for the fun of it. It is like an extended vacation… and the soil in the garden is getting turned, new ideas are taking hold for landscaping that is in harmony with our rain forest winters and dry summers… and I am painting with another one hopefully ready to be posted tomorrow. Ahhh but life is good. Thank you as always for your generous gift of Creative Everyday.

Reading Intuition, the path to inner wisdome by Patricia Einstein. Seeking the connections:)

i’m really enjoying the ‘Intuition’ theme. It’s got me experimenting with a completely different style that involves a lot more playing around.

lovely Mother’s day excursion yesterday to view nesting Egrets at Audubon Canyon Ranch–very inspiring!

this past week I created an illustration for a book (can’t show it yet though) and I have been knitting knitting on sweater for toddler grandson…plus working on 3 different textile designs on the computer. The most intuitive creation was the illustration–the author sent me an essay and I thought about the essay for a few days–then read it right before going to sleep–and woke up in the morning with an image in my head…which I promptly drew. (I bet you are doing an illustration for this book–also huh Leah? it is for Patti Digh’s new book..)

Posted a picture frame painting for a mother’s day gift and channeled my intuition when doing so! Thanks Leah :)

My past week was so super crazy busy–but I somehow carved out enough time to indulge myself in some creativity–and I made my first video after taking a little hiatus!! It felt really good–and even more fun–it’s about my INTUITIVE painting experience at Creative juices Arts!! How appropriate!!!

Lots of LOVE to you Miss Leah!!

Big hugs!

celebrating mom nature’s art this week- and looking forward to how the sights of southern utah translate to my art in the future-

I haven’t posted here for a long time, but I do look. Today I just decided to play with my hot air gun for the first time since I bought it full of enthusiasm in December. What I have done isn’t great but I took some close up pictures and put them on my blog and am re inspired. It was definitely an intuitive move to do it today. So many talented people here. WOW.

I’m really glad I joined in. I’m hoping that this will help to make me do something creative every day since this was my goal for the new year. I haven’t been able to even come close to meeting that goal, so I definitely need a little push. I guess having 3 kids 2 and under will do that to you. Sunday I took some pictures of my kids. I posted a couple at my other blog http://thiscrazylife-amy.blogspot.com

Yesterday, I made a fairy door which is something I have wanted to make since hearing about it a few years ago. I still need to work on it a little, but the goal is to finish it and put it in my butterfly garden. I wonder what my creative project will be for today?

Good Morning, Leah!
Intuition has become a stronger element in my daily activities these days. I make my lists, step back and watch where intuition takes me. Gardening, knitting and other textile/fiber work, soapmaking, reading and writing articles for my freelance work, and some moments are all about sitting on the porch swing and just listening to the various birds that have been showing up in our back yard-even birds I’ve not seen in a very long time. I’m having a good time with this month’s theme-this is great!

My intuition is telling me that I’m not in the right place job-wise or life-wise. I’m being sucked dry.
I wonder when I’ll give myself permission to just be who I am…

well it’s in for a penny in for a pound as they say! perhaps this will be the motivation to pick up some creative steam again!

I just love hearing about and seeing what you guys are up to! You are all amazing beings!

Welcome to everyone who is new and hello to all who’ve been around for awhile. I wish you all a beautifully creative and intuition-filled week.

I’m wayyyy behind in posting on my blog but I am faithfully creating almost every day (and loving it).
I love this month’s theme.
I followed my intuition to write a piece of prose for my mom for Mother’s Day and it was wonderful – it just flowed out from that mysterious intuition place :-)

I am still participating in the Every Day in May challenge with daily sketches of a rose at the office and on week-ends “what ever”. I just joint in a challenge to do 100 painting of one subject. More details and the link to the original post on my blog.
Have a creative day!

I decided to work on 2 paintings side by side….inspired by the Gypsies dancing in my mind!

Just back from a very busy 9 days away – hence the late sign in. All change this week with new creative beginnings that I’ve just blogged about.

Happy creating
Kat :-)

I’m brainstorming new things to use in my art journal (feel free to add to the growing list) at http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/20-things-dare.html. This week, I had a strong drive to add color to my B&W cityscapes, and that was totally fun! Plus we’re re-arranging our office so that I can more easily access the mondo photo printer!

oops, I put in the wrong week, sorry.
thanks for the great tips…
