Intuition amongst the Trees
May 11th, 2010
One of my favorite places to connect with myself and my intuition is in Nature. I love going through walks through the woods, perusing local neighborhoods and sitting near bodies of water. Sometimes just by myself, sometimes with an ipod, sometimes with a sketchbook to write or draw in, and sometimes with a camera. Oh, and trees, which I love to draw and paint, strike me as great growing souls with their own personalities. I love being amongst the trees when I need to get in touch with that still, small voice inside.
I was thinking about all this as I finished up this tree swing painting yesterday. Makes me want to get on a swing sometime very soon.
Where do you go to connect to your intuition? Do you have a favorite spot? Could you make some time to go there this month?

I agree that nature and spending that alone time really helps to get to intuition…beautiful peace! I love that texture in the lower part…wow!

Leah, I can actually feel the breeze in this painting. It has such wonderful movement. I’m still stalling on intuition, still worried that I’ll do it wrong, still stuck in my own weirdness. I’ll tried a little foray into it with a portrait that’s on my blog, but I still need to plunge in. I will soon. I love seeing how in touch you are with your intuition. So inspiring to see the possibilities of just letting go and letting it flow. Thanks for sharing.

I am not sure I know how to connect to mine yet; I fear we are missing each other. When I want to try to connect to it, I usually sit in meditation.
This reminds me of the fun of swinging!

Love the girl swinging in the tree, yes, for me it is out in nature, too, under the trees, in the woods, surrounded by green.

A spot would be, like you, in the woods or a rain forest gallery. It is so quiet with only nature’s sounds and so tranquil. I love the forest’s sweet cold smell too!
Thanks for the share.

Your painting reminds me of when I was a little girl and my Dad hung two rope swings in a big double oak tree for my sister and I. We would swing for hours and imagine the most wonderful things…so uninhibited we were back then. I’d like to recapture that free spirtited girl!

Yep, nature is my inspiration as well. Inspiring colors, shapes, textures can all be found in nature.

Leah, I love the colors and textures in this piece. Seeing it is like taking 3 deep breaths, and reconnecting our souls with natures. It’s beautiful.

i’m feeling a little blah today and just so happen to have stumbled across several references to nature. i was thinking about why i felt so wonderful yesterday and a big part of it was simply taking it slow out under the trees and the sunshine. i LOVE nature and need to make sure i’m making more time to simply BE in it. LOVELY piece of art, leah.

love this. At first glance it made me think of a quilt. The Arboretum is one of the places I go… Love the beauty of the gardens and flowers but don’t garden myself.

Aaah, the feeling of the breeze on your skin and the weightlessness at the top of a swing. Wonderful. I love how you captured this feeling!
I find an immense peace and tranquility when I am at the ocean, on the Oregon Coast. There is something about the vast ocean, the never ending waves, the patterns in the sand… I don’t know if that’s where I connect to my intuition but I know that it is a special place for my soul. I’ll be back there in a year or so… until then I’ll have to make do with Venice, which seems to connect to my intuition in a different, but still special, way.

Dear Leah,
I am the same.
I go to be at one with nature to connect, and get closer to my intuition and it always unveils.
Just yesterday I went for a walk, and sat down under some trees and I connected with the little world on the ground, the insects, the flowers and the soil and it made me feel alive again.
Today I shared a poem of gratitude to the uniqueness of every being in the world-that is a strong forte in my intuitive connection with nature.

Hi Leah!
Love the painting.
Deepak Chopra advises that we go into nature everyday to feel the current of aliveness and consciousness…so as to be connected. When connected hearing the voice is easier.
I love your tree anthropomorphism…..I too believe they have personalities.
Again, thank-you for hosting Creative Everyday!
love, kelee

Hi Leah, I love your art! For me too it is in nature, I have a beautiful garden at my church with water falls and streams overlooking the mountains., And I love to swing there is something magical about swinging- for me it is a form of meditation, nothing else matters or enters my mind during this time. The last place is around water, I believe that water magnifies our thoughts, prayers, affirmations so just being around water helps me center myself and get clearer, and when I ask questions I wait and allow the answers to come forth!
I am so grateful a friend of mine Connie saw this picture and thought of me, I am excited to find your site! Wishing you a beautiful day! Elizabeth
