Creative Every Day Check-In: June 21 – 27

June 21st, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 6/21/10 - 6/27/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for June's theme is Bliss. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with June's theme here.

Happy Creating!

Hi Leah:
Since I joined, I felt a bit late in my posts each week. Now it seems I’ve jumped the gun? Please note this will probably be the one & only time I’ll ever be first to post, HA! Hope you like my post about posters :-)

Finding bliss in peeling paint lately! And a visit to my happy spot last week. I struggled with this theme early in the month, but I have enjoyed settling into the idea that bliss can be found in little bits and pieces. It doesn’t have to be a big, grandiose feeling of overwhelming bliss, as I was thinking at the beginning of the month.

I’m new to this community and can’t wait to take part in these creative projects!

I’ve been finding lots of little bits of bliss — including spending four hours sitting peacefully in a cemetery with my DD12. While I still find it hard to claim joy, I am really enjoying the challenge to be creative every day and be blissful as I go! I’ve also been pretty consistent in posting on my blog, which I’m happy about:)

Again, thank you for the challenge and inspiration, Leah!

Good Monday Morning, Leah! Finding my bliss in the garden, and will be finalizing planting this week; I love taking my time, planting seeds, watching seedlings grow, and being able to plant my own efforts into the ground to continue to watch the growth turn into harvest….the arrival of my second child is coming closer and closer each day….I think we’re going early, which is just fine with me, so long the baby is healthy and arrives with no complications. Happy Solstice today and enjoy the first day of summer!

Today, my friends, I am finding bliss in faith and hope and in friends and family

hello blissful creatives :)
i have been super duper creative and productive.
i have created a creative genius e-course and am now working on all sorts of yummy new things.
blissful creativity is flowing here.
i feel so much better when i am getting lots of creative work done.

Bliss in gardening! Both inside and outside. Planted some flowers and worked on my miniature sunflower quilts.

Woo Hoo! I’ve started up my 100 in 100 creative project again. I started out behind, but that’s okay. I’m almost caught up. And it’s been really good in getting me to draw again.

Hello everyone, I’m continuing to feel very blissful and hope you all are too! Have a lovely week!
Janice.

The past couple of days I have been thinking about what Bliss is. The American Heritage Doctionary defines Bliss as, “1. Extreme happiness: joy or 2. The ecstasy of salvation: spiritual joy.” I have certainly experienced bliss in the last week by spending time with my daughter, my husband and my friends. And often it is small wonderful things that we do and share, not anything monumental. I fear I am rambling, so I guess I’ll move to to my day. Enjoy the summer solstice everyone.

I had a blissful ride on my bike yesterday, and in the early evening I sat on on my patio with my dogs. I read a book and enjoyed the weather.
Sometimes bliss comes in little packages, but those pockets are full of goodness.

I’ve been three weeks now with posting a photograph very day. This week, they included birds at the feeder from last winter, the water churning down the spillway of Pathfinder dam from the floor of Fremont Canyon, a wide and shallow storm cloud at sunset and others.

Lots of bliss in the last week! Time spent in the garden with flowers and herbs, researching different uses for them.

Continue to work on new fabric design ideas and found a way to tie my love for cross stitch into it. Pictures on my blog!

Participating in a journal project and completed my page for the book. There are more details on my blog for that too, a badge and link if anyone is interested in participating. There is still some time to join the fun!

Made a few more felted flowers too.

Settling into my studio now that my schedules changed and I have a few hours each day to paint. Lots of art happening, and I can feel my confidence rising, as I get more ‘flying hours’ up–bliss!

Just linked up for the week. To get my creativity moving, I’ve started a new project. I posted about it on my blog.

Have a great week!

xo

Dear Leah,
Hope you are well.
I have been sharing my creations everyday through the Flickr group, and it is wonderful as I am creating everyday. :)
Have a wonderful week.

bliss is a small grey kitty with a silver lining:
http://mariasangel.blogspot.com/

Bliss: The moment when I first enter my studio and have all of my ideas/feelings flowing in my head and I know exactly what I want, then that moment when my brush hits the board. It’s the best.

For me, bliss has been in just creating every day I can. Once I am in my studio and working on something, all my other cares and worries just disappears magically. That is truly bliss. My latest blog post lists the last couple of art projects I completed in my 30 for 30 challenge in my Yahoo group.

Bliss has also been in finding and sharing with other artist friends online and occasional times in “real life”.

I also find bliss in the cuddles of my 2 cats who check in with me every day between their naps, and also in spending time with loved ones.

I’ve found a hundred reasons not to return to being creative and blogging, but was kind of getting sick of the excuses myself! So what to do? Create/blog/re-connect, of course!! Summertime reminds me of being a kid and all the BLISS that comes with summer’s freedom to roam, play, and just BE! Hopefully, I can get back in the swing of things! I’m going to try to alternate my blog entries, 1 day of what I’m up to followed by a feature on someone I know (in real-life or in the blog world…people who inspire me). I think this may be the BLISSful start of something! Namaste :)

This week I’m painting more masquerade mask wearing girls, and a girl in a bear suit. I’m not sure where or why I’m choosing these to paint, but I’m having fun doing it.

Hi, everyone!

I just submitted my first post in my blog and the Flickr group :)

bliss=our true nature, our unbounded and limitless creative spirits lifting, rising and expanding. om shanti (peace). I glimpse it every day.

Lots of creativity going on since I joined. Unfortunately, most of it in my head :-) I’m spending a lot of bliss time with my little daughter :-)

I posted different versions of a collage, let me know which one appeals to you, creatives!

Love,
Nele

Ohhhh I was having the most difficult time finding bliss the other morning Leah and readers. I actually woke up grumpy which is unusual for me. Fortunately, I decided “Sitting” would be the best option and it was… yesterday’s blog post tells the story. Best of the week everyone! And thank you as always, Leah:)

These past few days have not been blissful, but today’s drawing and writing have really helped lighten the mood.

Finally! I did the theme! I had a great comment on my blog today from someone who picked me at random from CED participants yesterday. I too have found great things in this wonderful community of creative people.

I haven’t been up to painting lately but have been finding bliss in working in the garden, being with family, walking the dogs and just walking by myself with my camera. Bliss is whatever you need right now, in this moment… Hope you are all finding yours. Especially our little mentor, Leah

Hi Everyone, so glad to become part of this creative community! I live a creative life everyday and love to share my thoughts on it.
Yesterday my creative spark came from my new iPhone, yes I am a geek!, taking pictures of the beautiful sunset here in Margate. Awesome colors!
Joye

Hi Leah…I’m delighted to see your latest paintings-lovely, as always

I’ve been finding my bliss in teaching! I had taken a break for awhile and have recently started back. I find bliss in seeing the faces of the ladies when they walk out with a finished project :)

Thanks for providing another place of inspiration. I try to create every day and my imagination is ignited with all the news ideas and wide range of talents here on the site.

Stay inspired!
Michelle
