Creative Every Day Check-In: Oct. 4 – 10

October 4th, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 10/4/10 - 10/10/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for October is the element of Earth. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with October's theme here.

Happy Creating!

This week I am working on the beginnings of my new series. It is in its very infancy and I seem to be having lots of birthing pains.
Tomorrow I will post some fooling around drawings.

My creativity these days is centering around Canadian Thanksgiving — coming up this weekend. Said creativity is rather yummy — can’t wait to enjoy it ;)

This past few days I completed some pages in my art journal, including embroidery on painted water colour paper.

Today I hosted a chocolate themed writing group meeting which was yummy and fun. You can read a bit more about this on my new facebook page http://bit.ly/dwWv41 – if you’re on facebook please pop along & hopefully ‘like’ this new venture.

Now a little thought on the earth theme.

Have a happy & creative week.

Kat :-)

i’m creating a whole new schedule, one that supports and nourishes me, my creativity and my dreams.
i am so excited to dive into this week!

good theme. i love working with earth colors.

I’ve been working on my un-earthly creatures: MsKitty and ToyPony.

In my link, a new flower earring design I’ve been working on has an earthy feel to them. Love this theme… it fits so well with what I like to do in jewelry design.

I’ve not posted anything this past week, due to travel and exhaustion, and could use a little encouragement to get started, again. I have several pieces ‘in the can,’ but am stuck.

Comments on past work would be helpful, I think.

Thanks.

Ah yes Earth… it has been on my mind lately and will be part of my post tomorrow when I will share a link where my work was featured in a blog post by a Zen lay-monk. Also, I have the great privilege of being featured on Art Of Day this morning at http://artofday.com/wordpress/?p=1830 It has been a very good week:) Thank you Leah.

Having difficulty staying in the creative groove. September just flew by. The new piece I’m doind is earth tones – right in line with this months theme. Let’s see if I can make some progress on it! :)

I’m not sure what happened. Both my link and my post disappeared :(

I’ve been posting everyday on the things I’m doing. Today I am uploading pictures!

I’ve been posting on my other blog tangledskeins and sticky fingers, address http://www.tangledskeins.wordpress.com
come and see my play!

This is my first time making something like this, I hope you all like it, thanks for the opportunity to link up :)

i have been too busy running around the country to make art, but reading books & getting ideas- so watch out! looking forward to playing this week-

Congratulations – you’ve been nominated for Most Creative Blogger in the Who’s WHO in 2010 for 2011 event.. come nominate YOUR choice here: http://theblogfrog.com/1370931/forum/56186/most-creative-blogger-.html

The last two weeks have been a crazy whirlwind of visitors and Oktoberfest here in Munich, but now it’s time to get back to the studio. Yay!

i was wondering if you might check out my site I recently opened on the ning network? Its for artsy/creative people. Very new. Just over 100 members so far, but we want to grow! :) If you go to my blog and click on the “Creative Playground” tab, the site is linked there, its called Social Muze :)

If not, I understand :) Just want to get some exposure and advice. Also, do u mind if I add a banner/badge for ur site onto my blog? :)

Thanks!
Kellie

It’s such fun to return and exchange with others the vibrancy of creation. :) And it’s also so wonderful to see Creative Every Day growing more and more with new creative beings. Keep shining all, and thank you so much Leah for continuing with such a wonderful project. Your work is beaming. :) Happy week

Working on a design challenge through the Visions Art Quilt Museum with the theme of “Leaves and Trees.” Also, found myself on the water, appropriately enough for this month’s theme, when some friends invited us to sail to Catalina Island. And yes, the water was Cold!

Hugs and gratitude for the creativity here,

it’s been slow going, but I’m still going.

I know I’m posting a lot this week, but I’m getting to try and learn so much new, to me, in these workshops I’m taking, and I’m just so darned excited that I want to share! Hope you don’t mind too much!

Hope you’re all having as good and creative a week as I am! :)

I’ve got a colourful mandala drawing posted and hope to post some black and white drawings soon that people can print out and colour in (for those who love colouring like I do :)
I haven’t been posting much due to my lack of camera… hopefully soon!

Mine is a photograph – definitely very earthy and nature based.
