Creative Every Day Check-In: October 11 – 17

October 11th, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 10/11/10 - 10/17/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for October is the element of Earth. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. You can find out more about this month's theme and some prompts to get you started with October's theme here.

Happy Creating!

This week I plan on continuing my painting experiments on mattboard to help me discover how to approach my new paintings. Also I will be working on my new drawings… and, of course, art journaling.

Hi, I’m a newbie and would like to say thanks to Leah for co-ordinating this challenge. It’s great idea.

I’m currently juggling a six month and a two year old, so personal creative time at all is a challenge, but I’m trying hard at the moment (and yes, the housework is suffering severely).

My main project is to free up my art and experiment. I’m having a great time and I’m thinking this challenge will just make it more fun.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to.

i got to make art all weekend and have new pieces on the blog! yay! more to come this week-

I haven’t yet, but I’m about to post my 10/10/10 photo essay. A Day in the Life of Me. I have a whole lot of photos and uploaded some to flickr. The best outcome? It finally made me bite the bullet and sign up to flickr pro. Taking myself just a little more seriously, as if I deserve to spend the 25 bucks on my art. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26441072@N06/sets/72157625015274447/

I have been trying to catch up on my on-line class: The Art of Silliness 2.

this week it’s all about writing for me. writing and re-writing meditations for my healing circles.

It has been a long while since I posted here. Making the choice to intentionally do something creative everyday has made this one of the best years.
It is funny to think of a year drawing to a close in October, but for me, it seems my Creative year starts in November.

I’m really excited about this weeks posts! I’m not only giving away one of my prints and my tag sets, I also got a lot of great creative work done. I’ve been painting, and meditating. I shared one of my favorite earthy meditations on my blog as well!

After being on the raod for about 6 weeks–and moving! to another state…I am finally settled enough to resume blogging…and I started a drawing. Feels good to be creative again..

Just a simple drawing…contemplating the earth and other deep subjects…

I’m not travelling anywhere… just through the seasons along with everyone else… winter is sure sneaking up fast!

Oops. Somehow, I managed to get two of myself on the list. Mya poloh gees.

I can’t believe it’s Monday again already! Where did that week go?

I’ve been fairly creative but not so much on the earth theme yet.

I’ve a few pages of my art journal posted on my blog. Only one more page before I complete this journal – which feels a pleasant achievement. And I’ve been writing a little more poetry.

Hope your week has been good. Happy creating for this week!
Kat :-)

This week I am on a staycation with my family! I am looking forward to working on the theme earth in ways that will ground me.

I’m healing and through art I find it does ease my mind a bit. I still have a long road to go, but taking it one day at a time. Today, I’ve been revamping my art blog header. I’m all smiles to have tumbled upon your blog. Participating will surly help as well as networking with others. Thanks and hello to all!

Hi, I just set myself up for Art Every Day Month coming up and am considering joining the Creative Every Day Challenge. Thanks for setting this up and giving us all a push to dive into ourselves. I needed it. :)

Hello everyone! I’m sory I’ve been away for so long, it’s been a crazy few months, that’s for sure! I just got back from Atlanta, did the Norcross Art Festival and it was a blast. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first WAYYYY out of town show (and a two dayer at that)! Also launched a new online class plus makin’ tons of art for the show and to stock my shops–take a look at one of my recent paintings:

Thanks Leah for all you do!

Jodi

I just posted a slew of art journal pages. I love the inspiration that I get here and from everyone else.
Keep creating!

Kate

I just got an online store set up to sell my daily paintings. Very excited about this, and it has helped me find new enthusiasm to create new works as some of the older ones get mailed off to new owners.

I found a fantastic photo online of a woman reading a book with her cat next to her. The expression on her face was priceless. She looked like she was quite bothered by the interruption and camera in her face. So, I painted her. It’s finished now, and I’ll be putting up the completed photo soon. You can see my work in progress by going to my blog.

Well it was a long weekend with the Canada Thanksgiving… so I arrive Tuesday with a post already up from “Going to the Birds” on Sunday. Earth… dark and damp and gray today. I want to bury my face in the fallen leaves, make soup and put on woolly socks. Two paintings completed over the weekend which I will post in the next few days. Seascapes in my usual impressionist style. I am looking with interest at your Art everyday challenge Leah. I am not sure but I am considering. Thank you as always for all you do in supporting creativity.

I’m giving away a fairy journal, so stop by!

Seasonal Changes is the title of my post.

Last month I started a collage a day blog and this is my one month anniversary, yippee! Thought I might share my work with you all since you had a daily creative challenge. My collages don’t necessarily fit the theme, but they are made daily and are at times, quite a hoot. Looking forward to sharing.
