Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 10
November 10th, 2010
Today is day 10 of Art Every Day Month. Thank you for all the sweet congratulatory wishes yesterday. I was truly touched!
The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!
If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, for day one I would link to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work. If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.
How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.
Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.
Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm2010 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!
Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

I missed yesterday’s post and I’ve just seen the announcement of your lovely new baby on the way. Congratulations, have a wonderful time during your pregnancy and a delightful, easy birth (well, as easy as it gets, anyway). Mo xxx

And I did another post somewhere, but where the heck I now have no idea. I’m at the end of a long, creative day and I’m a bit blurred in my head. anyway, done a small piece of artwork, some pics of my arty-farty stuff, all now delightfully tidy and organised, and some pics of the trees in spring in our garden. I said in the other post (wherever that is, cyberspace, perhaps?) that I’ve suddenly tapped into a wellspring of creative and I’m eternally grateful to you, Leah, for this wonderful project.

I missed being artful on Monday, but made up for it yesterday in painting two pieces that had been swirling in my head. It’s frustrating to me that I can’t make them look in real life the way they look in my head, but I guess that’s all part of the process of developing as an artist. I wish I had the time and resources to take some art classes. But in the meantime, this AEDM challenge is providing a much needed outlet

work added to flickr. playing with color has always been my primary focus–whether paint or photo or wearable art. I’ve always believed the greatest gift we have as artists is the constant eagerness to play.

Hi Leah! I fell off the wagon in October, just went to get back on… only to discover that I need to do some reading, cuz now it really IS “creative every day”? Just for Noevember, right? Was I supposed to sign-up for that separately, or not post anything this month if I can’t commit? I will go read more carefully now… oops! Sorry for being a slow-learner (Failure to follow simple directions, ha!)

Today has been very busy and tiring resulting in less creative time & vision power. But I have managed a little and posted it on my blog. I’m pleased to have posted something, ten days in a row – feels like a heartwarming achievement. And the positive support from everyone makes this challenge so amazing. It is making a real impact on my month.

Go Team CoCo!!
I’ve been painting Conan O’Brien for a couple weeks now. I think I finished it today, but not sure. I want to give it a rest, and see how I feel about it in the morning. You can see progress shots on my blog. Tomorrow I will be posting the finished painting, hopefully.

Congratulations on the wonderful news Leah – I am so happy for you! As for AEDM, it is very inspiring to see everyone’s work posted. I am trying to do something creative everyday and leaving my stuff out on the dining area table has helped a lot with that. It is just that I am not posting every day but more like my usual once a week
