Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 11

November 11th, 2010

aedmlogored

Today is the 11th day of Art Every Day Month. You're doing beautifully! Keep on keepin' on and be sure to visit other participants for an instant shot of inspiration.

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, for day one I would link to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm2010 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out. ~ Ray Bradbury

At this stage I’m waiting for some kind of waning in my creative flow, but, not happening… I’m not sure how many of you are engaging in making things for the festive season ahead, I’m certainly starting to think about that and I have a feeling the AEDM will slowly but steadily transform into an craft and arts seasonal creativity blog :-P

I almost skipped today but decided to do a quick drawing. I’m glad I did. Sometimes, some favorite works can be done in a short time, I guess :-)

It’s Remembrance Day, so I may create something in memory of those lost.
Stay inspired!

I was so inspired last night by the movie Book of Kells. It was totally stunning, both visually and the soundtrack. I created a white on green piece that I really like using my kids old finger painting as the background.

Always wanted try my hand at creating a bit of “Poster Art” so, using a watercolor pencil sketch I had done recently as the jumping off point, I enlarged the scale of the figure and painted it with acrylics on a watercolor background. It is simple but I like the way it came out and want to try another using the same central “character”….

I’m enjoying taking a peek at what others are doing this month. So inspirational!

I have so many ideas brewing that I’m feeling overwhelmed. So I’m doodling mostly until things become more fully formed. I seem to flip back and forth between deeeeeep thoughts and pure silliness and my art definitely reflects that. Maybe the doodles are simply a way of keeping me from taking things too seriously. :O)

new blog post thinking about the words we artists use when we describe our art, and when we describe ourselves. Thanks again to Leah and all who are participating–it’s always such a powerful gift to feel the creativeness that is exploding out there!

Love today’s quote.

Today’s mandala is about owning our power, as well as envisioning a new world reality starting today 11/11 and for the next 11 days.

A very creative day so far which has made me feel very happy. Unfortunately my house looks like a load of my art materials have exploded! Posted some photos on my blog.

Hope your days are turning out fun & creative,

Kat X

More on Needle felting. I may have to turn this series of posts into a learn with me series. I am having fun with it.

I hope everyone is getting more enjoyment than frustration out of their creating. Just remember there is a big difference between I am not completely happy with it, and it is bad.

Mistakes are gifts that teach us something, learn from them. Do not let them get you down.

Missed a day but I’m back today with a lighthearted piece!
Hope everyone is having fun with AEDM!!!

So grateful for your work, Leah. Love the Bradbury quote…

Here’s a journal page I finished late last night (after midnight so I”m counting it for today..lol). I’ll be working on ATC for the Art of the Carolina’s this afternoon so pics of that tomorrow!

You Are Not Alone

Link is to today’s photo on flickr. Prompt was “reverie”.

Playing with watercolors for art every day month… http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/little-pastel-houses.html. And now, let’s use the brayer for nanojoumo!

Yes, my name and link are checked in twice because I managed to cut some fabric today for one of my art quilt designs :) .
Stay inspired!

whew! it was a crazy day – almost didn’t make it. cut up the grocery bag and went bananas with the gouache!

I’ve been feeling a bit tired the last few days and, therefore, not very creative. I wrote a short poem and posted it with a photo a took recently. Honestly, I don’t think I’m going to be able to post every single day like I wanted. So, I’ll do what I can and visit the rest of you wonderful, creative souls.
Happy week-end to all.

I did an abstract painting workshop today – we did 17 paintings in class and I used my leftover paint to some journal pages too! It was a blast! I picked up some great tips that I plan on using for the rest of AEDM and I am thinking about doing Creative every day now too! I love art!

Still working away at my Conan O’Brien painting. I thought it might be finished yesterday, but I’ve decided it’s not. I put another progress shot up on my blog.

I need more practice
