Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 14

November 14th, 2010

aedmlogored

Today is the 14th day of Art Every Day Month. I hope you're having a beautifully creative weekend! And hopefully finding some time to relax too!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, for day one I would link to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm2010 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web. ~Pablo Picasso

I did something different today, I revisited my Elder Wand, something I created a while back but which I felt was not quite complete.

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by yesterday to offer their opinions on my 2 painting versions. This is what I love about AEDM – all the interaction with other creatives.

Good Morning!! I didn’t get to post yesterday because I was out of town at a trade show—check out a few pics of the demos I did and a connection story that happened yesterday:

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

I took some photos of animals with the hope of being able to draw them. But I don’t have the time or patience to develop that skill right now — it was an exercise in frustration for me. Maybe one day . . .

Sorry – the page jumped and I didn’t pay attention so I posted on yesterday’s and today’s! Finished bracelet with etched copper discs I did a few days ago.

I worked on a watercolour & computer piece today. Hope to get more fabric cut for another art quilt, but we’re off shopping for a new office chair while some paint dries :) .
Stay inspired!

I posted a poem here today. Will post more visual art later today or definitely tomorrow. My theater creativity has zapped a lot of my energy – so while I touch and experience visual art each day… I am not completing as much as I would like.

Hello all, happy day 14. I’m still here, I was making art, just not blogging that much about it the past sevral days.

I barley had the time to link the last couple days so I’m just going to go see what others are doing today rather than link up my own.

Today’s post is titled “Enduring Love is an Art”. Don’t you think so?

learned how to finger knit – fun!!!

Busy weekend of children’s Birthday parties but at this last moment I realised a small bit of art had been made and posted on my blog about it.

Tomorrow is my daughter’s 9th Birthday. I can’t believe it – where did the time go?

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Hi Everybody! I’ve been drawing and painting daily, even had a few creative moments in the kitchen. But, I haven’t checked in. I keep drawing my toy ponies and MsKitties. Thanks!

I did another geometric design, using circles this time. Come see, and tell me what you think.

Today I’m painting pretty Shelby from a reference photo her Mom sent me. I love how she’s at a weird angle. It’s making it a challenge, but fun at the same time.

Wow. We are at the midway point already. It seems like we just started. I didn’t think I would make it this far.

I have been looking at some of the other art and I am floored. What a brave new world that has such people in it. :-)

Just wanted to tell everyone that I Love looking at what you guys are doing!

Oh-oh, I think I’m getting ahead of the days, but never mind. Today – whichever that is in Australia – I’ve had a break and uploaded pics of some beautiful mosaics which on the walls of the amenities block at a beautiful bay near here, Scottshead Beach.

Late this evening, but lots of words written today.

this is very inspiring. thanks for being such a sweet community!

[...] Art Every Day Month – Day 14 This is my man, reading in bed, and one of the fastest scribbly-sketches I’ve done, and it was so fun to do! [...]

I have always been too intimidated by poppies to attempt a drawing … til today. I am learning so much as we progress through this month of challenge, including how to keep my fear of trying something new out of my way
