Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 16

November 16th, 2010

aedmlogored

Sorry for the lateness of today's post! Today is the 16th day of Art Every Day Month. Continue to check-in on the amazing creativity others are up to! So inspiring!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, for day one I would link to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm2010 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

Each of us, even the least complicated of us, is a vastly comple, endlessly fascinating creature, and the secret to creating art is to gain access to that creature and all that it knows. It is my suspicion that what appears to be talent is really just a doorway to a larger consciousness. As artists, we want to keep the door wide open all the time. -Cay Lang in "Taking the Leap"

I decided to try and design a bib necklace. This is my interpretation with turquoise thread and beads.

Hi Leah,
I loved Cay Lang’s Taking the Leap. It really made a difference in my art career and I appreciated hearing about her own personal stories.
This AEDM is becoming a habit! Thanks!
Leah

you rock – I don’t know how you keep up with all of this – “late” is a construct, not an actuality. You are NEVER late – you ALWAYS show up! And thank you for that!

And thank you for all the lovely places this exercise is taking me! Total inspriation and motivation!

I agree with Tammy! You got here way before I did, and I thought I was early today:)

i make a handwritten list each tuesday. today, it’s a list of kitschy city nicknames! and i, too, am amazed that you always have your post up and running EVERY SINGLE MORNING!

Leah, you Rock!

Thank you for all you do for this.
Thank you!

More on sunsets and color. Enter my drawing?

I feel really behind on this year’s project, but here’s my latest status report – http://wp.me/pdz32-Gd

Today writing, journaling and making a felt broach helped keep my mood afloat during an energy slump.

“Taking the Leap” is on my bookshelf, too!

Happy day 16. I did another getting to know the blogger, it’s interesting.

I was given a short intro to “Wabi Sabi” yesterday and was inspired to give it a go. Dunno if this is “right” or not but I like it!

I’m continuing with posting my photography since I’m not blessed with painting and drawing talent! Today’s photo comes from my back garden.

Wow, 59 days of daily collage so far. I must say, as challenging as it has been, it’s been one of the most rewarding artistic journeys I have been on. Here is a look at today’s collage, in honor of all our daughters and nieces.

I put up a second link to my blog, this one with a question for everybody on self publishing (I hope that’s okay).

Just a little bit of arting time tonight….so it’s all about prep work for bigger things to come!

Prep Work

Projects I’m working on are for samples for my first big art retreat which I’ll be an instructor at! Whoohoo!

Woo000, what a month — what a couple of months! Sick for 5 weeks, ants destroyed my printer/scanner and router (no joke), lung infection, DSL service down for 2 weeks, etc. But amidst all of the trials and tribulations I’ve kept to my Creative Everyday goals, and I post when I can. My life has been so different this last year because of the intention…so I encourage anybody who likes this Art Every Day Month to join Leah’s Creative Every Day Challenge in January — that’s what I did, and there are no regrets — just surprises!

Started a new, untitled painting today. I think I need to spend more time with it before I come up with a name for it, but if you want to give a suggestion, feel free.
