Art Every Day Month Check-In: Day 4

November 4th, 2010

aedmlogored

Today is the 4th day of Art Every Day Month! The energy in the group is amazing! I love how the excitement that gets going in the beginning days seems to glow and expand over the month. A warm welcome to everyone who's just joined in. Soak up the great energy of the creative goodness happening around you!

The box below is a widget that I provide each day as an optional place to share a direct link (blog post or flickr image) to that day's creation. If you don't have something to share today, don't worry about it! Share when you can. In the meantime, be sure to check out what other participants are creating! Check out the links from today's post and the links on the participant page for instant inspiration. You can also see lots of great work in the AEDM flickr group. Feel free to share your work there too!

If you use the widget, please link to a specific blog post, not your main blog page or website (or you can link to a specific image if you're linking to a flickr page.) For example, for day one I would link to my first post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2010/11/the-owl-and-the-pussycat.html instead of my main blog page: http://www.creativeeveryday.com. This makes it easier for people to find your work.  If you want to share, but don't have a specific page to link to, feel free to use the comments section of this post to share what you're working on. If you're posting less than once a day, no problem! Simply use the latest one of these posts to share a link to your creation. For some, it's too much to keep up with posting every day, but don't let that get you down. Do it if you can and if you can't, just keep on creating, that's the most important part. If you get off track and miss a few days of creating, don't let that freeze you up either. Just pick up where you left off and keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. You are making your life a more creative one with each step.

How to participate in Art Every Day Month: Check out the AEDM info page for all the details, instructions on how to get involved, and then visit the participants page to sign-up before you use the link widget to share your creations. The Information page also has instructions about how to use the widget below, if you're having any trouble with it.

Survival Guide: If you feel like you could use some more support, prompts, and motivation to keep going throughout the month, check out the Art Every Day Month Survival Guide.

Twitter: If you're on Twitter (I'm on there as @leah_art), I've been using the hashtag #aedm2010 to mark Art Every Day Month tweets. It helps to find others who are tweeting about AEDM!

Creative Every Day Challenge participants: If you're not doing Art Every Day Month, you can still use any of the daily Art Every Day Month check-in posts to leave your weekly link.

I am so grateful for the work you do here, Leah. I am looking forward to reading everyone’s posts later today. Oodles of love.

Thank you so much for the wonderful month of creativity that you provide. I am having a good time trying to reach a few of the other artists to connect and offer support.

Good Morning Everyone! I just love creative energy! Thanks for the motivation Leah :) .

Stay inspired!

Didn’t do anything yesterday because we went shopping and I was dog tired when I got home so decided to be gentle on myself and have a rest. I’ve had the most amazing start to these days of flying with art. Last night I dreamed I was in a bed with my husband sitting beside me holding my hand. Suddenly I knew I was dying and I told my husband that I was, but that I knew that life was all about love and the power of love. I was quite calm about dying, I could feel the energy leaving my limbs and heading upwards, and I was feeling very calm about the whole process of dying. Then suddenly I felt alive again, got up from the bed and walked off with a number of women. I woke up this morning feeling so much lighter and more energised. I’m currently working on a painting to reflect this, but it’s gotta dry before I can post a pic.

Sketch is part of my homework from current lessons from “the Artist’s Toolbox”, given by Lyric Kinard at Quilt University
Have a nice AEDM day!

Sorry, number 10 has the wrong link, please ignore this one and go to number 11…

I’m going to take advantage of this rainy day in the northeast to stay inside and play with colors! Grocery shopping can wait. :o )

:( I didn’t manage to do much today, so I had to resort to posting art from the past. Which is why I haven’t added my name to Mr Linky.

Oh well, I’ll try again tomorrow.

Nutty
(blah)

thanks so much for all you do for your fellow creatives every november. i might not have discovered i actually can draw without AEDM ♥

Today I’m posting the last of my sewing projects and hope to get back to collage work tomorrow. When you are trying to do something creative every single day, you realize how busy your life is!! YIPES!

I found myself in an odd place today. Realising I had accomplished what I really viewed as a major goal. Time for some re-aligning of thought.

What a great challenge this is for me. It gets me out of my gloom and off my lazy you-know-what. :-D It really makes me feel accountable; and the challenge I am having with myself is fun.

I actually create the art the day before and post it first thing in the morning. I hope that isn’t cheating.

I wish I could visit everyone’s site every day, comment on every piece of art and follow every fantastic link on every site. But as we all know, there are not enough hours in the day.

So I am doing a lot of “drive throughs’. :-)

I am thrilled to actually be muting all the noise in my head that has blared the past two years I wanted to be fully committed to AEDM. I am so grateful for your time and energy, Leah. And that of my fellow artists! :D

Virginia, I agree with your comment regarding accountability. I have made an appointment each day for this activity and being able to check in and to post what I creAted for the day has been an amazing affirmation.

P.S. I linked to my collage from yesterday, “empowering your confidence” … It sums up my journey from “before” to “now” with regard to my art practice.

I posted today’s art in the flick’r group. My Linky goes to my blog. I am hurting a lot today and feel wordless/artless.

Hello everyone. I have been away from the scene for too long. I am back and so pleased to be back. I really appreciate, Leah, that your forum and community are here for many of us who come and go. Thanks for being there and bringing us together. Cheers and good luck all on this art every day month challenge of 2010. PS. Love the mermaid.

I can’t really change my website to allow direct linking to each daily post, so I just put up a link to the image itself. It’s a concept sketch for an etching I am going to be starting soon for a university printmaking course.

Really enjoying this experience so far, though it can get a little overwhelming when I have a lot of work to do for my other courses.

I tried some abstract art today, inspired by Michelle@ brainangles.blogspot.com and some clouds I had photographed recently. I have never done this before. I used pencil first, and then filled in some colors with crayons~not “proper” but what I had available.

I’ve combined my art for today with my Blog Blast for Peace post. I hope you all will visit!

Ugh! Just posted days 1-4 in single link. I guess if ’sketching’ is creating than I have been successful. Happy Creating everyone. I hope you are all reaching greater degrees of completion than me.

Today I did a couple of mixed paper collages photos of which have just been posted on my blog.

AEDM is proving a wonderful way to be introduced to interesting & inspiring creative people. Very enjoyable – thanks Leah!

Kat :-)

Looking at my baskets of art supplies, I selected the heavy body acrylics for an abstract background. Not sure what will become of this one, but I like it! http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/galaxy.html.

Boy, I didn’t think I was going to make it today, but I did! Can’t wait to make more bloggy friends!

Have been out of the country for 2 days, just got back home and immediately checked in to catch up on all of you :-) I feel like this challenge really carries me. When I’m feeling down, I just come here and feel all this energy flowing and it makes me happyyyy!!
No linky nor bread today, see you tomorroooww!

I have a lot of work… I have visitors, I’ll be having more visitors over the weekend, I have a new brush which does not like my hand and lots of excuses for my last post.
:-P

Hello everyone, it’s another late night for me and my creativeness this evening really involves gathering supplies for my class I’m teaching on Saturday on graffiti art (fun!). I wanted to share though a painting that has evolved for me over the last year. I finished it a couple of weeks ago. It’s probably cheating to post it, but I’ll justify my posting by saying my blog post is my creativeness for the day :) Posting daily is something I haven’t done in a VERY long time! That’s an accomplishment in my book, too :)

Check out Paint Over

It’s fun seeing all the energy and excitement! You all inspire me :) )

Such wonderful collection of creativity. Thank you everyone for sharing your work. They are inspiring.

I edited and upload a video of me painting With a Cherry on Top. Now, it’s time for some rest. See you tomorrow.

Leah, thank you for spearheading this project. I’m off to a great start. Let’s hope I can keep the momentum.
