The Owl and the Pussycat
November 1st, 2010
Day One of Art Every Day Month has begun and it's been so fun to see people checking in! My first creation for AEDM is a 6"x6" painting of "The Owl and the Pussycat." I remember reading this story as a child, but I didn't read it again before painting this, I just went for a simple image of my memory of it.
Happy creating, everyone!

love it!! Chloe has a beautifully illustrated Jan Brett version that we all adore–and know by heart, we’ve read it so many times. I like the little waves…reminds me of something

Pussycat looks a bit worried. I think owl needs to tuck her under his wing! Great start to the month Leah. I love the poem. I read it at my friends’ wedding.

I love how the water looks like fish scales. This painting brings back memories of hearing that story when I was little…

What a cute painting! My first day of the AEDM challenge consisted of sorting through 2 sets of drawers filled to the brim with craft material and supplies and reordering them into just one set of drawers. I had to create order in the chaos before I could start crafting!

My father’s favorite poem–he loved to read it to me. I got him a neat poster one time and he put it up by his desk. Your fun painting brought back some good memories.

Your Owl and the Pussycat piece is so sweet. I’m very partial to that story as my now husband gave me that book when he proposed.
