Two Days of Art
November 23rd, 2010
Today, for day 23 of Art Every Day Month, I created "Let Go" using acrylic and ink on canvas paper to paint this image. I was inspired by a message Goddess Leonie wrote on Facebook. She wrote, "Goddess Reminder: let it go. Let the pain go. Let the sadness unravel. Let it go. Today, you have permission to feel light of heart." Ah, I love that.
Speaking of Leonie, she has just released her 2011 Creating my Goddess Year workbook, planner, and calendar. I got the 2010 one and it was awesome! This one looks even better.
And because I couldn't get yesterday's art up here while my site was down, here it is, "Moon Faced." With this one I worked with Inktense pencils on watercolor paper. It's about 9"x10".
Again, sorry about the technical issues in the last 24 hours. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for the rest of the month!

Please post me on your list. I like to view my whole life in what ever I am doing art. My classroom is an art project, my cooking, my merchandising skills when I display in retail stores and down to teaching computer classes to seniors. My meditation practices are also an ancient science and art form.
Please keep me on your list.

They are both wonderful. I especially like the soft colors and the movement in Moon Faced!

I’m enjoying seeing your flow and movement in these pieces Leah.

I love your “Let Go” piece. Great composition.
I tried ink on water color yesterday. It’s fun and I’m thinking about ink and acrylic now.
Also, I didn’t think I was addicted to your blog until it was down. Glad it’s up and running again

That color in today’s painting is so rich – I really like it…I enjoy the long forms you use – great creativity

I love both the pieces. Letting Go is so beautiful and what a nice message at a potentially stressful time of year. It’s so calming. And, I love the movement and color in Moon Faced!

I have to laugh at myself here Leah because I went through some pretty rough withdrawals today with the technical problems. The first day of December I’ll probably have the shakes or something because I’ve gotten to love coming to see everyone’s stuff each and every day.
I just adore “Letting Go”, so terrific. “Moon Face” reminds me a little of Picasso, the way her face is divided in two like that. Awesome.

My first thought of Letting Go was of her reaching to the bird rather than letting go. Perhaps it is what I need right now, a stretch, reaching a bit farther.
Thank you, Leah.

Leah, I love the simplicity in your work. Also the colours – they are very attractive.

Leah, I truly love this new painting. How big is it? I picked up a copy of Goddess Leonie’s workbook this year and it is so inspiring. I’m happy to see your technical difficulties are resolved. Have a lovely and creative day. {soul hugs} Kathryn, Collage Diva
