Creative Every Day Check-In: December 1 – 5
December 1st, 2010
This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities. Normally, I post these on Monday morning, but with Art Every Day Month just ending, this one will be for a shorter week!
Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the 2010 Creative Every Day Challenge anytime! Find out more and fill out the sign-up form here to join in! Later this week, I'll have a post up about how you can sign up for the 2011 Challenge.
Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 12/1/10 - 12/5/10.
The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.
You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!
Theme: The (totally optional) theme for December is the element of Air. I'll be posting about the theme throughout the month and you can feel free to use it to inspire your creations, follow your own muse, or do some combination. I'll be posting more about the theme later today, along with some ideas to get you started if you need them!
Happy Creating!

Hey Leah, I tried to sign up a few times and it’s not letting me. Not that it’s a big deal since it’s so close to the end of the year so don’t sweat it if you don’t mine me playing along anyways for the last month.

I loved what you did with the November AEDM. You certainly inspired a lot of marvelous art. Going to various sites was like visiting the museum every day. Thank you for all you do here. Great site.

Hello! Well done to everyone who took part in AEDM! I’ve seen what a few of you have done and been very impressed. A series of deadlines all converging on me at once prevented me from joining in, but I hope all who did enjoyed it. I get the impression you did!
Starting today I’m posting images of a handmade book I’ve been working on. It’s my first handmade book but I hope won’t be the last. Today’s link takes you to the front cover and an explanation of what it’s all about.
Happy December, everyone!

I’m new to CED here. I really enjoy the AEDM so I decide to continue on CED too.
Today I just drew a simple drawing

I’m really enjoying this latest series of paintings and you have inspired me to get out my liquid acrylics, salt shaker and alcohol and start playing with them too! (soon as I clean up my studio from doing the table and gettilg ready for my show) lol!

B, sorry you had trouble! Yeah, feel free to play along for the rest of the year. There will be a new sign-up form for 2011 shortly anyway.

I’ve been away this week so I just basically have been working in my journal–I don’t really love this page, but I’m posting it anyway, because I want a reference for when I do love the face I create–I like to see the progress along the way. Blogging is so good for that. I have to laugh at some of my stuff early in my ‘blog career’ Amazing how much I’ve changed along the way!
Have a great weekend!

How funny that the December theme is air: have a wonderful sunset photo up (have been experiencing some doozies!) and have some funny quilting “quality control” photos up from my studio. Leah, thanks always for your energy, hard work, and ability to forge connections and community!

I’m painting Santa Claus. I’ll be giving away a free print next Saturday of the finished painting. Leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win.

Hello All!
I’m coming back to CED after a hiatus from blogging about my paintings, but I am looking forward to sharing my skyscape paintings this week and seeing what you all do. Thanks!
