Creative Every Day Check-In: December 20 – 26
December 20th, 2010
This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities. Normally, I post these on Monday morning, but with Art Every Day Month just ending, this one will be for a shorter week!
Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the 2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!
Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 12/20/10 - 12/26/10.
The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.
You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 for the rest of this year and then #CED2011 beginning in January to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!
Theme: The (totally optional) theme for December is the element of Air. You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.
Happy Creating!
The inner - what is it?
if not intensified sky,
hurled through with birds
and deep with
the winds of homecoming.
- Rainer Marie Rilke

Hello everyone,
Today’s link is the penultimate post in my series about my first handmade book, Notes from an English Garden, which I’ve been posting throughout December.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and successful New Year.
Janice.

I am expanding my creativity lately by blogging along with the themes of 9 Muses Musing on MortalMuses.com. Since I normally write about whatever I feel like, this is a stretch but I’m finding that I’m telling stories that would not otherwise be told, and it’s been good.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Italy. Buon Natale e Felice Anno Nuovo!

On my blog today: Some words on the theme of “believe” accompanied by art that is full of bling! The festive season seems to be influencing my creations with glitter and metallic shine
Wishing you all a happy and creative week leading up to Christmas.

I linked to my post about my first commissioned art — some wire dragonflies — but I’ve been creatively busy with a bit of writing, too, in later posts Now I’m working on a special journal for my daughter . . . will post when it’s done.

I’m getting burnt out on Christmas…. probably because I picked up more non-creative writing work and am feeling the pinch. But I’m still trucking. This week, I will be posting about my felt hanging ornaments, my beaded felt xmas star topper, and hopefully the stuffed bear friend I promised my son. also a stocking for the cat, and a miniature dinosaur for the boy. If I have time (ha ha) I’d like to do some more miniature toys for the kids and maybe a baby or owl pillow for the girl and a robot or dino pillow for the boy. Now wonder I’m stressed.

I loved that today’s quote is Rilke. Fabulous.
Happy Holidays, everyone!

I’m finally back from my blogging hiatus. I’ve been so busy, too busy to post! Also, I too really like the quote. I think I’m going to have to get some Rilke out of the library!

Hi Everyone, I seem to be grounded; I can think of “air” in words, but images seem to be, well, “air-y”; transparent; formless. But, Santa Cat is on my blog this week, visiting the various characters I draw throughout the year. Happy holidays everyone! And, wonderful quote!

I was up to tons of different things, some sewing, some collaging, and some things that will be off in the mail. It was a nice mix.
