Creative Every Day Check-In: December 27 – 31

December 27th, 2010

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities. This check-in is for a little less than a week, as I'll start a new one for the beginning of 2011. After that, the check-ins will return to every Monday.

Join in the Challenge: You can sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 12/27/10 - 12/31/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, there's a growing Twitter list of CED participants and you can use the hashtag #CED2010 for the rest of this year and then #CED2011 beginning in January to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for December is the element of Air. You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.

Happy Creating!

i’ve been creating new year’s tags and cards and will start v-day cards this week. trying to get a head start on things since christmas cards got away from me!

I’m back on the creativity (posting) wagon, yay! Whew, if Christmas is so great, how come I love when it’s OVER ;-)

I’ve been working hard on finishing up my ecourse, and realized that I’m in a new phase of what I’m calling my “spiral of creativity.”

I always inspire myself at the beginning of each week by talking about illustrated book I love :-)

I also did some drawing for my Etsy shop, doing some kind of renovation for the coming year!

I’m at the in-laws for the rest of the year…not much creativity going on here — just trying to remain calm and not get too caught up in the agida this season (and every season with aging parents) — and not get too upset about the lack of mobility the blizzard has brought.

I feel the urge to make a sweet potato pie….

My recent creativity has been in the form of writing. I finished a poem yesterday and I always enjoy the exercise of the written expression of creativity.

I just posted about a book I created for my daughter using fabric, window screen, foil tape, “old” pieces of art and photos, among other things — very eclectic and imperfect –just like me:)It was such a fun process putting layer upon layer of love into my creation! I’d love for people to leave comments about creative ways they’ve found to express their love to someone :)

I discovered your blog during the Art Every Day month. That month blew my mind. I had always thought of myself as creative/artsy but to be creative every day was difficult and some days just non existent. That being said I learned so much more about myself and it helped put me in a creative mood for Christmas. I am back for the Challenge for next year. Thanks for doing this.

Hi Everybody, It’s been quite a year of creating. Today’s posting ventures into the land of the surreal.

I’m going to spend some time getting caught up today. Meanwhile, here are some of the Christmas projects that I didn’t have time to post last week, mainly because I was still creating them at the very last minute!

This past year was a reawakening for me creatively. This past week was a challenge, creatively. Happy 2011 everyone! terah

Posting my last project of 2010 – Bloom where you are planted card. Wishing you a very happy and creative 2011!

Wow! We made it through Christmas! Woohoo – what a busy time of year. I have been upstairs here all afternoon working on art. What a nice break from the Christmas action. This may be my only day this week since my hubs is off and we are going to have some fun! But one of the things we are doing is going to the MFA, so I can still immerse myself in art even if I’m not making it. I have just finished a new piece. Stop by if you have a minute and let me know what you think. Have a great week everyone!!

oh my..it’s been 2 weeks since I posted, my bad! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas–I know I did have pockets of creativity here and there but not as much as I would have liked, but at the same time we had some great family time that I haven’t had a lot of lately. Enjoy your week and Happy New Year!

Take a Snow Day

I just wanted to mention that I have a new article coming out in Somerset Studios! Please check it out (Jan/Feb) issue!!

Here’s a sneak peek!

Hi Leah,
Have not been posting a lot these past few months but managing to be creative and inspired. Just posted to my blog with my word for 2011, focus, and my index card book.

Happy New Year!
Mary

Thanks for this first link, which happily I feel I had something to contribute. The cosmos will be a create theme for us this month.

We’ve been remodeling the floors to our home (ripping off the carpet and installing wooden floors), so I had limited Internet access for a while now.

However, I wanted to say that I’ve been writing so many things about the air this past month, and it’s been posted on Twitter (poetry, of course)! Wow, here’s to 2011! :) Happy new year, everyone! :)
