Creative Every Day Check-In: Jan. 31 – Feb. 6

January 31st, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 1/31/10 - 2/6/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for January is the Cosmos. You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here. The (totally optional theme for February is Passion, which you can read more about here.

Happy Creating!

If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen FOR you, TO you and BECAUSE of you. ~T. Alan Armstrong

So tired…

Had a spurt of creativity today and now I’m battling ninjas.

Stay inspired!
Michelle

Having a great time with Gratitude5, my commitment to make a Gratitude Art piece, listing five things I am grateful for, every day for one year.

It’s been great fun so far!

Trying to journal and sketch daily.

I’m posting my progress on a painting I’m doing every day over the next week. Today is actually Day 2.

I’ve finally gotten caught up from making christmas presents, and I’m moving on to new baby presents. I’m hoping by the end of next month I will have time to start painting again, but it’s slow going!

I’m so happy I decided to participate in this. I hope you’ll all have a passionate week!

I love weeks when you finish up things that have been in the works! I posted everyones pictures today. Yay!

I’m managing to get my Monday Musings done on a weekly basis AND a few other little things posted here and there. Not as “artsy” as I’d like to be, but I have a plan in mind . . .:)

I updated my blog yesterday. Tonight’s activity: I just finished to make a batch of blackberry jam. I picked the blackberries with in friend this fall, but got them finally out of the freezer today to make jam.

It’s as though February’s passion (not in the romantic Valentine’s day sense) them was written for me! Check out the Wishing and Dreaming in the Full Moon activity that we did in January. One of my wishes was passion : )

Thanks very much for the organization/inspiration that Leah is providing and for the supportive comments of this community!

I posted about the new painting I am working on this morning – which fits nicely with the theme passion – and also includes a feature about the Street Photographer Vivian Maier. I would say that her work exudes a passion for the human condition and life. Outstanding work, if anyone has a moment to stop by and watch the video and follow the links I have included. Best of the week everyone and extra special thanks to you Leah for hosting this space. Terrill

Hello everyone! I shared a new photo this week.

Hi! I posted about the jewelry I made over the weekend. Feels so good in the paws! Twisting wire and stringing beads. Yummy! Got racy with some shiny red wire! Glad to be creating and sharing.

This week’s post was a reflection on what creativity means to me and how I found my way back to it after years of being ashamed of my own creative abilities. This week, I’ve got a knitting project on the go, and have been writing for at least 10 minutes daily.

Yay!! Imbolc!! Snowstorm, school’s closed!! Creative passion! I am much happier with the Passion theme, I think! Posted this morning:Winter Creative Passion!

Eeep, keep forgetting about the theme! Currently doing a day by day thing following the progress of a painting, but will keep in mind the theme for after! :)

My blogging has been very sporadic. Thankfully, due to my nature, I always have some element of creativity in every day. :-)
I did post this weekend with my latest art journal projects.
Love the 2011 CED Logo.

I liked the color combo from the scarf set I did last week that I combined them for a baby sweater, too. Yes, crocheting is my passion!

This past week was a tough one, but I was still creative as often as possible. I finally started practicing my guitar again and began the process of learning to play it, once more. I worked on my class projects which include a wood sculpture and an oh so exciting grey scale for my color class. I’ve also been trying to be creative in cheering myself up and being mindful of my moods and what is getting to me :) Last night I also had an awesome epiphany for a creative way to utilize my small apartment space more effectively! Woohoo! Happy creativity everyone!

I’ve needed lots of rest this past week but have found lots of ideas & inspiration during this rest time. Sometimes I think we just need space and time to recharge.

Hope you’re all full of energy and inspiration this week!

Kat :-)

Got my artist trading card blog online, so I’ve just signed up. Thank you for having this – it’s a wonderful inspiration and ongoing encouragement!

Been doing a lot of writing lately, especially for work and a little on my blog. Tomorrow I plan on getting out the art supplies and have some FUN while I create.

Hi everyone, we are iced and snowed in w/ zero temps. I’m holed up in my studio, writing and blogging and sewing. This post is about ranch life, will have a completed creation to post on Friday. I’m really loving checking in with my CED friends. You fill me up! Terah

Day Four of the progress of my painting. Plus some very excited chat about a different kind of creativity….

Mmmm, just posted a piece of new art that I have been fine-tuning. It felt good to be working and not shoveling snow! I think my piece is close to finished. Need to live with a bit longer and give it a chance to tell me! Have a wonderfully creative week everyone!

I’ve been feeling wintry up here in Canada and kind in hibernation mode. creativity is moving at a slow pace but I hope to soon post about my rainbowy crochet cell phone case (can be done by totaly newbie crocheters:). Until then I’ve posted sharing links to posts on other creative blogs that have uplifted or touched me in some way – bringing light to winter darkness :-)

Just posted about an altered book in process, using the Divine Comedy.

Day Five of the painting! Nearly there!

I am creating my own 8 week MFA program at home. I am reading books, writing, and just pretending that I’m in a program to finish a great short story or a couple great poems by the end of 8 weeks.

This is my first creative challenge. I make jewelry. I only created one item for last months challenge. I will hopefully be creating more this month. :)

Have been so busy creating this last month that I’ve only just updated my blog: http://lindezines.wordpress.com/2011/02/04/catching-up/
Writing and drawing or painting most days – and on the days where I haven’t actually produced anything, my ideas and thought processes have been active, with note-taking etc done in my journal :)

Here are my last two Passion themed posts: Invitation and Butteryfly Bush

We’ve been iced in and fairly cozy all week, schools closed for the 4th day, so I’ve been painting on canvas, organizing paper ephemera, drawing doodles with my daughter, and made two stitched journals (not yet posted)!

Day 6 – nearly there!

Hello Friendships!
My name is Shanna Mae and I am looking forward to this! I need some inspiration in my life and what better way to do it than challenging myself for 365 days! :) Nice to meet you all!

A sketch, for a change. And no apologies!
Have an art-filled week, whatever that means for you,
Tina in San Diego

Finally posted something other than snow pictures. I am having fun with scrapbook page design and have some other things to post next week.

I just updated my blog. Two journal pages yesterday. Both are about my passions: my faith and tea.
Have a creativ day everybody.

Last day of the CED week. Will repost for Monday. xoxo Terah

I just came across this today on my OWOH blog hopping. What a great idea and joined CED. I have been trying to post something every day about MDW’s Love.
