Creative Every Day Check-In: March 21 – 27

March 21st, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 3/21/10 - 3/27/10.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for March is Nest. You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.

Happy Creating!

Hi Leah,

Hope all is well with you. I really love looking at all the wonderful art participants are doing.

Good stuff,

xoxo

It’s spring, finally!!! Yippieeeeee! Enjoy the sun, she’s shining here and it is already a bit warm, mmmmmmmm

I feel a little deflated.

I went back to a full-time position at work and I feel overwhelmed and questioning the gusto of last November–I had to cut back to 3-days a week. In truth I had not yet laid the groundwork for success and a flowing abundant stream of money from my creativity.

So I am back at the drawing board. back to working a full-time job. I am replenishing the bank account. I am paying down more debt.

But I still feel ________ (fill in the blank).

The words all seem a bit negative.

Blank.

Let tomorrow give offer more positive words.

I am connecting A Melody a Day (which morphed into Acappella Affirmaitons) and I am using each Acappella Affirmations to create articles.

I am hoping to create a 6 week ecourse using the articles and acappella affirmations as the base.

Thank you Leah for the CED Challenge! I am seeing the ways that I am truly being creative and integrating them into my work and life:)

A new painting! Well, a new old painting as I used an old canvas. It’s not quite finished but definitely getting there… happy week everybody :)

This week I wrote about developing my own practice of prayer – as a form of compassion and expression of love, and as a way to process and respond to the events that are affecting so many around the world. http://thespiritthatmovesme.blogspot.com/2011/03/power-of-prayer.html

Thanks for hosting and encouraging everyone to create.

A few sketches and some comments about time. Lovely photos, Leah. I think I’ll go take a walk with my camera : )

Continuing onwards in being, living, breathing creativity — like you Leah, and everyone else here (and everyone else in the world who just may not know it!). Have a great week!

Wow! Look at all the early birds here! Looks like any nesting for the next 2 weeks will be backbreaking work for me as we are clearing out our master bedroom and walk in closet to have a hardwood floor installed. Lots of work but I know it will improve the nest greatly!! =)I did actually lay the groundwork for a textured painting and I am itching for time to get back at it now that the gesso is dry!

Finally I have some pictures to post to show what I have been up to recently…thank you so much, Leah, for hosting this and for nudging our creativity along.

This week I feel bogged down with paperwork & other necessary tedium so I shall need some creative time to keep me sane. Lol. But I have blogged about starting a new etsy shop & putting some small paintings out into the big world. Oh and written about the magic of journaling.

Hope everyone is having a happy creative week!

Kat :-)

Hi Leah,

I have been playing in the studio this past week. Getting to know some supplies I haven’t used because I had been frustrated with them. Play really does make a difference. I hope you are having a great week.

Kate

Love the Maya Angelou quote at the end of this post. I have a song. We all have a song :-)

Lately, my “songs” have all been unrecorded as blog posts. But I’m still creative every day. Today, I got back on the share-wagon. Enjoyed reading some of the links! Thanks for that. It’s nice boost to one’s day.

Had a fun week rediscovering my pinhole and Holga cameras. They gave me a little creative kick start that was sorely needed!

Posted my update today! Hope you all have an awesome, creative week!

When I made this, I thought of you, Leah. :)

My painting Hope is a Thing with Feathers is being featured on the Beteabon blog today. Very cool!

It feels like spring is really here finally!!!! Had fun with a recipe for the they cook and draw blog. Got me thinking about fresh garden food. Seeds are starting to come up, so many things to paint.;D

I’m a new member, and very m uch enjoying looking at the wealth of creativity that can be found here! This is fantastic!

Well I thought it was spring, but looking out the window I see that it is snowing. Maybe If I go down to the studio and paint a picture of spring it will come true.

This week I finally updated my online shop (where I sell daily paintings). It was a big task, but I’m so happy to have it done. Yay!

I thought of you, Leah, when I crocheted the poncho. Do you like bright colors, like me?

Thanks for this place to be. This week I was able to add a new painting and article to my blog. I’ve also started sketching, writing and taking pictures with more intention throughout my day :)

A walk in the beautiful park gifted me with some amazing photographs. More to come.
And I’ve started painting again. Off to paint right now!

I’ve been way out there for the last few weeks. I missed you all. Terah

I have changed direction a bit this week. I’m painting smaller than I have in a year or so. I never thought I’d go back to this size again, but I have, and I’m actually loving it.

I just signed up for the CEDC! I am also signed up for the April 2011 A-Z Blogging Challenge. I think this will dovetail together perfectly for the month of April.

I love your blog, your ideas, your themes and am excited to join in and meet fellow creative people!

It’s been an off-balance sort of week, but I worked on my postcards for Hanna’s DIY Postcard Swap, wrote several tutorials, drew a bunch of doodles, and started The Artist’s Way.

I am really enjoying reading Shaun McNiff’s “Trust the Process, An Artist’s Guide to Letting Go”. Lots rings true to my own process in this book. I wrote about it posted some drawings I’ve done in the past week in my Monday “Je Dessine” blog post today.
