Creative Every Day Check-In: April 11 – 17
April 11th, 2011
Update: Oops! Last week's Mr. Linky was showing up this morning, but it's all fixed now! This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.
Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the 2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!
Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 4./7/11 - 4/17/11.
The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.
You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!
Theme: The (totally optional) theme for April is Small. You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.
Happy Creating!
Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement. ~Golda Meir

For some reason the Mr. Linky list from last week is showing up in this post for me. Or did 101 of you really already beat me here?

I wondered the same as Jul! But linked in anyway.

Hey ya’ll I am in the process of getting ready for a public art event and didn’t have time to photograph anything this weekend…but I am giving away one of my knitted bunnies! The deadline is tonight so get over there and leave a comment!

This week I reflected on the importance of finding my tribe: that sacred community of women who are so important to our journey.

You guys are right! That was last week’s Mr. Linky. Sorry about that!! It’s been fixed to a brand-spankin-new one.

I’m totally looking forward to being back in the studio after last weeks spring break. I can’t wait to get painting and sharing. I hope everyone has a beautiful, creativity filled week! XO

Hi everyone. Most of my creativity of recent has been in my thoughts. I’ve been focusing a lot on personal growth and being a better communicator in my relationships. I hope in the end the change is for the better.
Have a great week!

I love the quote you shared so much Leah!

Oh, nice quote. I love the idea of fanning the inner sparks of possibility. This past week was devoted to small projects. Probably this next week will be, too.

For some reason the first couple times I tried to post a comment it didn’t work… Anyway, I happy to say I’ve been really creative the last week. Finished a painting that I am excited about and also completed a cool project for class and continue to work on my sculpture for the other class
Everything is posted on my blog!

Hey Jamie,
Sorry about that! Your first two comments got caught in the spam folder for some odd reason ( I just spotted them), but since you commented again, I’ve deleted the extras.

I haven’t been here in forever. We had a death in the family and then I just lost touch. Nice to see you are all here and pursuing your creative outlets. I have been dabbling with my art and created a few new pieces. Last night I came up with a wonderful new idea for a new 3D piece and can’t wait to get started. Stay tuned!

After a short holiday getting back to painting and thinking of spring, gardens, flowers….and going back to work!
Being challenged is great to keep at the painting when times get busy.
Thanks

I’ve been away from my art for a while, but now am back into it. Looking forward to share my latest and greatest with everyone and seeing what others have to show.

Okay, a little odd here, but I used the same Golda Meir quotation in my post today. It was only after I posted and decided to come link here that my eyes fell on the same quotation at the end of your post! What’s that they say about great minds?
I’m off to visit some other sites. Cheers!

Okay, really crazy now. I just saw the theme for the month and my entry fits it to a “t” even though it wasn’t intended that way. Hmmmm.

Start Small {and don’t concern yourself with finishing; baby steps count} ☚ What was playing in my mind when I woke up this morning!

I am having great fun with the 21 Secrets Workshop over at Dirty Footprints Studio and that has gotten me motivated to get out the art supplies and play

New series. I don’t really know where it’s going but it feels right, so I’m taking the small steps down the path where it’s leading.

After a long absence, I’m trying to get my creative juices flowing and define my blog a little better. It comes back to photography and what I like best – photo essays. I’m starting with The Road to Morocco based on our recent trip. SMALL could apply to the individual tiles in the mosaics up to cities as a component of a bigger country. I’m also looking forward to catching up with others and checking out the links. So – hello again!

A painting for an online art class I’m doing with Wyanne – half an hour non stop putting all the love you had for something from your childhood into it. Quite a revelation putting love into a painting in this way; now when I look at it I feel exactly how I felt about the thing I loved!

In love with the world. Making big things look small and small things look big. Love!

Quite prolific this week! Started a new abstract – am working on balance of quiet and noisy. And it’s not at all small!
Posted by: Tara@Aquamarine | Apr 16, 2011 at 6:10 am |
What I posted in Mr. Linky is something small I’ve created. They are called “Lucky Stars,” which are little origami stars. There is an accompanying poem with the artwork/origami as well.
Of course, I’ve been creative every day of this month due to NaPoWriMo, and I’m thrilled to see that I’m half-way done with it! Otherwise, it’s been several years that I’ve finished NaPo successfully. Sometime else gets in the way of my finishing.
Have a wonderful weekend/week everyone!

I got a little confused – I think I checked in two places. Hope everyone is well – fun to be back in the CED community.
