Creative Every Day Check-In: April 25 – May 1st

April 25th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 4/25/11 - 5/1/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for April is Small. You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here. May's theme will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday the 26th!

Happy Creating!

This week was an interesting week for writing. Seemingly out of no where, I felt called to write this piece, based on the Legend of Joan the Pope and connected to my emerging spirituality and sense of self.

Just signed myself up to participate in this wonderful monthly challenge. Thought my post today particularly appropriate to this month’s theme: ’small’. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Some writing, some photos, some art — it has been a creative week :) More to come!

after a crazy month back to having time to create- some photos, some painting, some mixed media. stop in for a visit!

Just finished a new collage that I am really excited about. Used a special acrylic technique that I’ve been teaching myself. Will try to post a picture of it today.

I hope cooking counts as being creative. I am forced to be creative with eggs in spring (busy hens!). When I arrange presentation on the plate, I have the same feeling I get making art… so it must be true!

Hello everyone. Last week was creative but not in the typical way. I worked with my daughter on a school project. She was making a hot air balloon out of tissue paper for her science class. I also baked, made a couple of post cards and reveled in the small moments. I have a second blog devoted to the small and blissful moments in life so I am truly enjoying this months theme. Have a blissful week!

I hope everything is progressing well with you and the baby, Leah.

I’ve had your logo on my site last year and now for 2011, but hadn’t linked in or commented — so now I have! yea. Preparing for a workshop I’m offering tonight called Cultivating a Daily Creative Practice. And have been into drawing geometric shapes using graphite pencils every day for awhile now. Glad you’re doing what you’re doing. Thanks.

I took some more close-up photos this week of the spring buds and leaves. Such a fun excuse to go outside and be in the world as it comes back to life!

Creating everyday is so much fun. Thanks for hosting.

I’ve been writing about our trip to Morocco, which is a big thing. However, it takes many small things to make something big, so it sort of fits the theme?

Hi! So great to be back! I’m full of joyful melancholy checking back in on CED!

My blog is undergoing some great changes, it’s becoming the journal of my way to entrepreneurship! And I just posted the first article minutes ago! It’s directed to you guys, my dear CED-fellows!!

Love,
Nele

i just joined this great group of creative people! yeah!!
hugs and smiles~ jill

Happy spring everyone! I did a poster this week with photos from my recent trip to Newport, Rhode Island.

I am grinning with joy this evening from reading some TIC TOCC results. It is wonderful to think that from a “small” idea and in a “small” amount of time that creative fun and sharing can happen!

And *Leah* – I still feel that last year your CED site changed the course of my creative journey for the better. Thank you so much :-)

Wishing everyone a happy and creative week!

Hey, this is my first week into the challenge.
I’ve decided to start a blog, which I’ve been working on designing and writing for, and I finally got back into painting, starting with watercolours, which I hope to have posted shortly.
Have a great week

Been awhile since I’ve posted. So many tree photos to sort through. So many projects going on…..I must get organized. Tee Hee!

At least 1/2 a dozen new ones here by the end of the night.

A quickie post today, about a seemingly small discount at the art suppy store, that can add up to a lot of savings. (It’s Dick Blick’s Art Materials 100th Anniversary, everything 25% percent off, I have no affilation but was surprised to walk into the store by accident today and get some thing’s I’d been sort of avoiding due to the expense.)

Hugs,
Tina in San Diego

It’s turning out to be a prolific week! This morning, a peacock.

I’m having a fabulous time this week making mandalas in some online graphics applications that I read about on another blog. I’ve posted one today that feels springlike to me (we’ve got rainrainrain here in southern Ontario and everything is turning vibrant green!)

if you read this Steph, welcome! I’d love to check out your blog but am not sure which one it is. :)

I was surprised that the “Small” theme inspired me as much as it did. I’ve had a lot of fun with it. Now I’m ready to get on to “Big” :-)

Hi, I’ve just discovered this challenge and am relatively new to blogging so thought I’d join up for some fun and hopefully to meet some new creative people. I am a mum of three young children and so life is always pretty creative. Occassionally I sneak some time to do my own things too. I’m from Australia so it is happy autum for me! Come and see where I live!
