Creative Every Day Check-In: May 16 – 22
May 16th, 2011
This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.
Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the 2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!
Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 5/16/11 - 5/22/11.
The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.
You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!
Theme: The (totally optional) theme for May is Big.You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.
Happy Creating!

Hi Leah! I’m impressed and maybe a bit wow’ed that you’re still keeping up your wonderful community/blog for us even in the apex of extreme motherhood! Not that I’ve experienced it myself, but I’ve heard it can be a “handful” at times.
Love,

I had the most marvelous long weekend spent in the company of many other creative people, some of whom participate here! I can’t think of a better way to be creative every day. Thanks sooo much for posting the Liberate your Art postcard swap – I’m now up to 172 participants!!

Sometimes we need to learn the rules..and then know how to break them in order to think and create BIG:

Hello fellow artists! It’s a rainy Monday in New England and the extended forecast is for rain and showers for the next week. Yuck! Time to go visiting to see some sunny and inspiring art. Have a happy week creating in your own special way!

Today’s post is my reflections of the powerful and unexpected weekend I just had learning from writing teacher Natalie Goldberg at Kripalu Yoga Center. Leah’s wonderful painting “Listening” is featured.

Couldn’t go out to paint plein air so I did a night painting of another painting I did.

I’m stuck in the soggy weather too. Didn’t get a chance to make many photographs last week, but maybe will start something different while I’m trapped in the house. Hoping for some sun soon!

In keeping with this months theme, I struck it BIG on Friday selling two original oil paintings to on collector in close to home and the other 2,300 miles away. I think Friday the 13th is just a lucky day for me.
This week will see me finish up my last of 15 paintings for a solo show opening June 30th. It is BIG oil painting on 36 X 24 inch canvas. The working title is KEEPING WATCH and with just a wee bit of luck I shall have it posted for Friday. We shall see.
Good luck in the land of babies Leah and best of the week everyone! Terrill

Oh your little one looks beautiful
Been a while since I left a comment here but I’ve been creating. And have been blogging again regularly after a gap. Presently doing the Art House Sketchbook project and posting my pages to my blog almost as soon as I do them. So a lot for you all to browse on http://lindezines.wordpress.com/.

Hi, I just joined the Creative Every Day challenge. I’ve recently made a committment to myself to take my art full time, and not go to a job…scary! But fun, fulfilling and challenging, all at once.
Cheers,
Tahirih

Hey, fellow creatives. Today, I dared to step into something Big: a smallish portrait of my husband, playing with his electonic device, a Motorola Xoom. Sketching a human? I know ….. I am one brave …
Hugs and have another fun week of creativity!

Just checking in to say I am creating almost every day. I am currently trying to pick a project and not jump around. All my projects are exciting to me and I can’t decide which “child” is my favorite. I am good at starting but not finishing so that is my challenge. Like Tahirih, I have made the scary decision to make art full time and not go back to another imperialist job.
