Creative Every Day Check-In: May 2 – 8

May 2nd, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 5/2/11 - 5/8/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for May is Big.You can read more about the theme and some ideas to get you started here.

Happy Creating!

It's only when you make the process your goal that the big dream can follow. ~Oprah

Happy Creative Monday everyone!

This week’s writing has focused on the rituals of remembering those that have passed on in our lives, and how they continue to teach us, even after they are gone.

Mostly, I was getting my blog up and running (which it is, now) and that included writing material for. Other than that, more painting :)

Okay…trying to think “big” this week =)

Thinking big..and celebrating four years of daily practice:

Good morning. Last week I did a collage demo for a friends painting class. It reinvigorated me and fired me up creatively. I started a new altered book and attacked my large canvas. Yay! A whole new week to make things happen! And congrats Marcie on your 4 years of daily practice. :)

I’m totally hooked on making mandalas from altered images. more of that this week :-)

The kids are finally back to school tomorrow and so I would like to address the many partially completed creative projects I have started. I’d like to get lots of creating done if possible.

Wishing everyone a happy & creative week!
Kat :-) X

That’s quite a change of focus–small to big. It’s not something I usually think about, so it will be an interesting challenge this month!

This is a great idea, and I’m so excited to start. I think this will absolutely help me in my art creatively and with bettering my skill. :D

Ah Big! Well my painting that I posted this morning is about a big space from the top of a hill overlooking the sea. My week is crazy busy and I won’t make it back to the studio until Thursday. That is why I painted Sat. and Sun. and posted the process and new work today. Best of the week Leah and everyone! Have a wonderful time creatively exploring BIG.

Now is the time to start dreaming big again. Where are all of those glorious fantasies of childhood? You know, the dreams where you are the hero and stand before a crowd of hundreds of thousands of people while they applaud your amazing accomplishments.

I remember. I need to get back there, even if it’s only in my own mind. This will remind me of why I’m here, of my purpose. My purpose is to create and share those creations with the world.

Let it be so.

I ♥ that Ophera quote Leah! :-) Happy May!

Big is the theme? Big in so many ways. Just maybe not what you think. heheh

New painting. It’s quite big I suppose… :)

I’m into dreaming big now. And the process. It’s the little steps that make the big dream. It’s the big dream that informs the little steps.

Well this week my work is not so much Big in size but it is a Big change in that the color scheme is a higantic departure from my usual style. I think I like it too. I’m still trying to figure out how I got there. :o )
