Creative Every Day Check-In: June 13 – 19

June 13th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 6/13/11 - 6/19/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for June is Metamorphosis, which you can read more about and get ideas for here.

Happy Creating!

A difficult week. This helps.

For this week’s post, I reflected on the first glimpses of my spiritual journey 15 years ago – inspired by a woman who was a mentor to me and a true leader in forging a role for women in religion and spirituality.

This week has been full of ups and downs, as I get ready for my latest metamorphosis – from a resident of Italy to a resident of the US again. But still, through it all, working to be creative every day.

so much fun these linky things are,,a great oppurtunity for newbies like me to find other artists, thank you for this

About simply being in the moment..finding from within.

Busy weekend and now I am sick with an intestinal ailment. Oh well, time to think….

Metamorphosis is such a powerful theme for this month. I’m still working through what it means for me. Perhaps if the sun finally comes out?

Oh I got brave this morning and posted a new post entitled “an invitation to buy original painting.” There is this aspect of creating without gallery representation that requires I transform from artist to marketer and then to seller of my work. It is often a smooth process but every once in awhile like today I must leap from one aspect to another. And I did :)

Best of the week everyone! Terrill

I was so inspired yesterday that I made affirmation art. Its easy to sit still after we have made changes and feel we are all done, but I like to remind myself that change is constant and things can be better and better, so I have made a banner to remind us everyday of that

New to this blog and to the “challenges.”. My metamorphosis has to do with me switching gears and focusing on the art I have always wanted to paint, but have been to intimidated to do…bit, last month, I started it and I am loving every minute…the ideas are coming and I am getting better and more comfortable all the time…I love art blogging and meeting other artists and reading about their art journey…it has been a real treat…

I have been showing up and I feel like my Muse is showing up too. Terah

This month’s ‘metamorphosis’ theme is really speaking to me on so many levels; inspiring me and encouraging me to explore important heartfelt issues.

Thank you Leah!!

So much change in the air. And I am welcome to the Life giving energy that explodes from all of our creative loves. Thanks all for sharing your light in the world.

I have metamorphosised (I believe that’s the technical term) a little chair for my niece – from shabby white to vibrant pink and yellow!

I’m so late getting here this week that we’re almost to next week. Oh well. I learned a fun new technique from my daughter. It metamorphs (is that a word?!)shaving cream and food coloring to art. Interested? I will be posting the how to on my blog – hopefully later this afternoon. Have a wonderfully creative day and weekend!

Feeling sad and letting it flow. If feels good to just be where I am. A major metamorphose all in itself.
peace,

After almost a week at a textile/quilt/art related conference and workshop, I feel metamorphisized from blah about my art to energized.

Thanks, Leah, for this sense of community and caring.

It’s been a long time since i’ve shared with you…i figured it was about time since i still follow so many I “met” here :)

A little spring romance with watercolor :)

Some photography from the last month. Terah

I had the most amazing luxury of hiding out in my bedroom away from the kids yesterday and I just drew and painted all afternoon. When I really just settle in to the process there is never an end to ideas or trying new things out.
