Creative Every Day Check-In: June 20 – 26

June 20th, 2011

This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.

Join in the Challenge: Read all the details and sign up for the  2011 Creative Every Day Challenge here!

Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 6/20/11 - 6/26/11.

The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to the blog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.

You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag  #CED2011 to help others find your Creative Every Day tweets!

Theme: The (totally optional) theme for June is Metamorphosis, which you can read more about and get ideas for here.

Happy Creating!

This week’s writing is about the Full Moon Women’s Circle I started with three other women – which will be an important source of wisdom, reflection and creativity.

I just realized we’re about half way through the year now, it’s time to take a look at the yearly plan and ponder why some things get done, and some don’t. Though creativity is always high on my list of MUSTS! :-)

Take care!

A bit about fathers and daughters…and mothers and sons…and life’s cycles. A ‘metamorphosis’ of sorts: http://www.marciescudderphotography.com/home/2011/6/19/a-morning-like-this.html

Today I will be firming up details for my next show which will be in July. It’s fun to look back at the first show and see how my art has morphed into something different with each show (this will be my 5th on my own) and with each step in the “growing as an artist” process!

Its my tenth wedding anniversary this week & last week the IA theme was Romance. Which got me thinking that even relationships involve metamorphosis….

This month’s theme is constantly inspiring me and seeming to fit into where I’m at in life right now.

Wishing you all a happy creative week!

Kat Xx

Happy Anniversary, Kat! Life is so hectic lately with the end of the school year in a couple of days and my husband traveling. Whew! I try to get small parts of time when I can. Have a great week everyone!

Happy Anniversary Katina! This week is the beginning of my summer break from regular blogging on Monday and Friday. Feels a little weird but lovely just the same. I am putting hanging hardware, titles and inventory numbers on my paintings this week in preparation for next week’s June 30th opening of my Solo Exhibition Study of Blue. Almost there!

Best of the week to you! Terrill

Did some reflecting on hearts as I did some collage work just for fun :)

A creative weekend! Challenges that keep me stretching as an artist.
Happy Summer :)

I’m trying for more precision in piecing my quilts (the ones that demand precision, at least). Maybe I’m metamorphosizing by breaking from art quilts and more free-form design work for a spell, to work with blocks and points and just fun sewing.

finally posted a creative photo-update of all I conjured up the last months besides writing like a maniac :-)

PS: happy anniversary Kat!! ;-)

Wow, what a wonderful find on this beautiful Solstice day. I look forward to participating with Creative Everyday regularly and enjoying all the creative stimulation. Thank you so much.

Happy Anniversary, Kat!! And Happy Summer Solstice everyone!

Thank you so much for your challenge and for your artwork! I received my calendar and cards last week (or week before last!) and I LOVE them! I’m saving and planning which piece to order next.

I learned how to make paper feathers and they really are fun. Thought I would share it with all of you.

I made an Artist’s Altar in my studio. Dedicated to the time I stalked Julia Cameron. Terah

Beating myself up a little for my lack of discipline in the studio this week. I can be very difficult to work with sometimes!

I felt a little like a painter this week, crocheting with a color blended yarn called “Monet.”

this month two new grandsons joined my family!!!—one daughter had a baby boy June 5th and the other daughter had a baby boy June 22—needless to say I have been pre-occupied with grandmotherly things…but I just put up on my blog a sneak peek of one of the baby quilts I have been working on…feeling blessed to have 2 more healthy happy little ones arrive…
